    Mac "_." files

I have BlueHarvest and TinkerTool System which has most of the features of BlueHarvest but I find that the handiest and quickest way to handle these files is dot_clean. If the remote drive is mounted via MacFuse you can even cd to the remote server and use dot_clean there or copy dot_clean to...

    chronic AirPort connectivity problems

Read through the following thread. I put together several things which I did and now my wireless is working perfectly. Don't worry that the thread starts off with NetGear, the solutions are generic. Make sure to post back here or to the linked thread so that others can benefit...

HTML syntax highlighting in PHP scripts in Xcode?

Xcode seems like overkill for php. I use BBEdit and like it very much, it will give you the highlighting you want and you can define other types if you need to.

Yep, that's exactly it. If you're doing it, you should be OK, explaining to someone else could be hard.

PowerBook G4 locked in Airport Mode

If it's what I think it is there's a messed up prefs file, and it's tricky to fix. What happens is when one goes the the Prefs pane it's locked and once you unlock it, it immediately locks again. You can kind of get past it by clicking a button and pressing return very quickly, that...

MacBook Pro not recognizing "Enter" key on external keyboard

There was a software update when that keyboard came out (I have one too). Before I applied the update the F17 - F19 keys did not work. You could try running that update again and see what happens. Look for it on the Apple downloads site.

Hard case for iMac 27" - for flight

The original package is most likely best. It's well designed, it gets them to people when they're not always handled kindly. Tape up every seam with good packaging tape, that makes a big difference. One thing I've done when I don't want to advertise the contents of a box like that is open it up...

    Airport dropping signal

I was having similar problems and I made several posts to this thread about how I got my system working well, 5 bars all the time. Don't worry that the thread starts off with a question about a NetGear router, the suggestions are generic and I don't have NetGear, mine is LinkSys. If you...
