ugh, got it to work had to change "guest account = pcguest" to "guest account = racer", since racer is a user in the db. but why does it connect as guest? I did specify a user. Is my smb.conf wrong?

of course it's possible. everything is. I think that with OpenBSD (dunno with other BSDs but prolly the same) u can set in the firewall to only open the port when an app is running. well something like that, dunno exactly. with this you'd only have the port opened when u are playing the game...

in VPC u can select in what way u connect to the net hub or dhcp (connection sharing) use dhcp, and your mac os should get an ip like 192.168.0.1 (which one exactly I don't know) just go to this ip then dunno if it really would work, but you should try it out

MikeXpop, legacyb4: the restart is only needed for quicktime upgrade not for iTunes. iTunes works here without restarting too.

now, why do I have to reboot after every lil update, apple? java, quicktime... why can't apple just restart the appropriate service, not the whole system? I know I can bypass pressing the reboot button, but still, I wanna install technologies and use them without rebooting :)

I just noticed this, using safari that came with 10.2.8 update go to https://rhn.redhat.com/errata/rh9-errata.html and check the top right corner of your window. Is it just me or is there a lock? anyone has an idea what it's supposed to be?

happens here too (2579 songs) what u can do as a temporary solution is to drag your music folder into iTunes (before going away from ur mac for a couple of minutes that is :D)
