    mkae your own fonts?

Yes, these programs are commercial for a reason... designing a vector-based drawing-editing-conversion application coupled with tracking and kerning facilities, doesn't get done in a developers spare time! Nonetheless, here's a site you may like ;) : http://www.fontifier.com

    iPod Mini First Impressions

April. But the price is a sticking point... Apple stated £199 a few weeks back. But after an outcry (£199 roughly translates to $340(?), and the iPod mini is $249), they've stated the price will be set closer to release.

    Donation 2004/thoughts

Noticed the donations have slowed down somewhat now. :( Suppose this is expected though. Can't we have a virtual money-collection box to pass around the congregation on significant days (such as product announcements) ;) We could do this... Add a money-jingling sound file to the post view...

    Powermac G4 450MHz for $ 530. Do I get the money's worth?

Yep, I'd agree... try and push for an eMac... they are great machines, and far superior than the G4 450.

    security primer...

It's great that such talk is within the main macosx.com forum, since if it was pushed into the Network thread, those who run servers out of curiosity or just starting out, would easily miss such vital information. (Hence, don't bounce this thread over there then!) The more users come to...

    Site check please

Don'tcha luv Lynx! ;) It's a great leveller! Accessibility and usability issues aside, I don't think your site needs frames simply because it doesn't have a vast navigation system (which was sort of an argument for them a few years ago). As for the work examples, don't over-complicate the...

    Site check please

Definitely needs some colour. Also, how about a portfolio, at least 2-3 examples (rather than a lovely picture of yourself ;) ) The pic is fine, just that it's the only significant one. Also, in your Services text, near the end of the page. You state £30 for paper admin services and web admin...

My love-hate relationship with CSS and IE6

Glad we could help ony! :) Will be glad to help with the floats when you're ready... they're tricky to start with, but once you grasp the way they operate, they are great to use (and seemingly very kind to Internet Explorer 5/5.5/6, Mozilla, Safari etc. etc.).

    Code view complaint

Wow, so much negativity... Well... since your all so pessimistic, why is it now fixed? CSS anyone :) It is no problem controlling a <pre> with a style, surely you guys knew this!? (Thought this was elementary). Maybe I should've suggested it rather than assume, sorry. :(

My love-hate relationship with CSS and IE6

Doh... I'm laughing like an idiot! I've just replied to your post on WSG mdnky!!!! ::ha:: It's taken 2 separate macosx.com members to go away and resolve this issue and meet up in a totally different place for a fix! Here's my fix: Hi I've actually had a crack at fixing this problem...

    iPod Mini First Impressions

... exactly what any self respecting pre-2-year old would do! ::love:: (Mine normally finishes his calls on my calculator by dropping it on a hard surface.... Better watch out if I get on of those mini's) The packaging is huge!

PHP recipe for mysql db dictionary-like lookup?

You can't go wrong with W3Schools... http://www.w3schools.com/php/default.asp These are the best on-line FREE tutorials. I presume you want to start from scratch. It also has a MySQL tutorial set. If your hand-coding, this, and a couple of decent books (Sams 24hr or O'Reilly) should kick...

My love-hate relationship with CSS and IE6

I've tried using a <hr /> but didn't work. I wouldn't mind seeing the image php code... it may be causing the problem (I know mdnky said it probably isn't this, but worth a try). Otherwise, I reckon you've stumbled on another IE6 CSS bug. You'll have to do a search on Google I'm afraid...
