Well, if you wait until a Tiger release date has been announced to order your Mac it would ship with Panther pre-installed, but you should be eligible for a free upgrade to Tiger. I would at least wait until after MWSF…

Well, I personally prefer Adium for my IM needs. It frustrates me to no end having a window open for each person I'm chatting with. Only time I really use iChat is when I'm trying to transfer files.
