pc printing to HP Photosmart C3150 on mac

tomdkat - I think you have missed my point. On the mac, all print queues (printers in the printer list) expect to receive postscript, because on Macs all applications that were developed using the normal Apple development software output postscript. You have to choose a postscript driver on a PC...

pc printing to HP Photosmart C3150 on mac

So both of you used a postscript driver on Windows, but weren't successful? The postscript driver it is referring to isn't a photosmart driver - you have to choose one like generic postscript or Apple Color Laserwriter xx, for example.

Looking for a OS X compatible print server

The only print server that will work the way you want (using the HP-provided driver) is the Airport Express/Extreme. That's because Apple software does redirection of USB output to the USB port on the Express/Extreme. Otherwise, all other print servers that I know of use standard protocols -...

    Can't Access internet through router?

    >but when its connected to the router I always get a 192.168.1.101 IP.< That part is the Normal behavior of a router. You are supposed to get a local-only IP address from a router. Have you set the router up for connection protocol, etc? Instructions from the ISP?

Want to Read/Write to Specific Folder on Mac From Windows XP

(I don't have Leopard, so this may not help...) The way to do that pre-Leopard was to use the freeware "SharePoints" to help you do all the permission changes. Available on versiontracker.com. Or, you can manually edit the Samba config file using this (old) guide...

    IP printing in leopard

I feel fairly certain this isn't a driver problem but a setup one. The Gutenprint driver is a CUPS driver which is required in order to use the CUPS built-in IP print protocols. It's also important to know which IP protocol to use with your model of print server, and to know what details are...

new Mac mini connecting to Slack server

I use Samba all the time to share between three linux machines and two Macs. I learned how to set up smb.conf via some Mac help articles: http://www.oreillynet.com/pub/a/mac/2003/03/18/samba.html http://forums.macosxhints.com/archive/index.php/t-21299.html

Adapting CUPS to a strange printer

#2 looks doable to me. http://www.linux-foundation.org/en/OpenPrinting/macosx (you knew about this site, right? - go to the Printers button in light Blue near the top to read about Ricoh RPDL)

In that case my best guess is that it's a Windows software problem. Sorry I can't help there.

Airport Express Windows XP - unable to print on a Canon PIXMA MP150

I think Bonjour should have worked, but... go back to setting up via standard TCP/IP port, then go to Configure Port (may have to go thru properties to get to ports, then click Configure). There, make sure the radio button for port 9100 is selected instead of LPR. (On OS X this is called HP...

"No PPPoE server found" message after ISP swich

Not sure, but it sounds like you have the computer(s) setup to do PPPoE. They shouldn't be. The Base Station should be set to do the PPPoE for you, and then each computer connects using DHCP only.

    Connecting MacOSX with MacOS8.1

8.1 works for me (old powerbook). In Chooser, you enter the "server IP address" to force OS 8 to connect using TCP/IP AFP. Appletalk AFP isn't supported by OS X 10.4. So, in Chooser you see the OS X computer (appletalk "discovery" works), but clicking on the file server and trying to connect...

How do you change the subnet of an IP to match a PC?

The PC is not getting its IP address from the Airport Base Station. Do you have it plugged into the LAN ethernet port (correct one) or the WAN (which normally goes to the cable/DSL modem)?
