Laserjet 1010 Not in the printer list

caterpillar - should have started a new thread. NT_STATUS errors are Samba errors, and are independent of driver issues. There are many possible causes - Have you set your Mac to be in the same Workgroup as the Windows "server?" Do you have an account on the PC that you can use to login for...

Printing to a laserjet on a network.... Help please.

Samba isn't related to using a print server -- This is about the print server and IP printing: What print server is it? There is more than one IP printing protocol. For LPD and IPP, part of the protocol is that you use a queue name to specify which printer port the printer is at (yes, even...

    Leopard Printer support

Start by checking here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1370 Then, be sure the package/box says Macintosh support. Many printers still aren't supported on Macs, but it's quite easy to figure out if an individual model is or isn't. (I don't find an HP Color Laserjet on the web.)

Problem connecting Tiger to Vista via SMB Samba

When you do Connect to Server, enter the samba URI, ie smb://[IP address of new computer] rather than use the browse feature. I think you can use browse again after doing that once.

Forgot to ask what OS X version. Also - is that the OS X firewall or an added one? Windows Sharing: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=Mac/10.5/en/11404.html http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1812 Some sharing guides: http://www.ifelix.co.uk/tech/tiger.html I also used some Mac-specific...

sharing files with windows and Centos

Check your firewall/sharing setup on the Mac. You want windows sharing on and you want the Mac to be in the same windows/Samba workgroup as the PCs/linux. (I use Samba sharing between my Macs/PCs/linux because it's easy and because I don't want to mount anything automatically - only a couple of...

    IP printing in leopard

The queue name is required for built-in jetdirect network cards for the LPD protocol. It can be "ps" for a postscript-only queue/printer; "auto" to allow the card to accept both postscript and PCL; or "raw" to allow the card to pass through anything without checking the input. If they've set a...

    Setting up my home network

You will find it's easiest to do sharing when you have an identical user/password on each machine. For setting up sharing permissions, get the software SharePoints, available on versiontracker.com. For guides on how to do print and file sharing, look here: http://www.ifelix.co.uk/tech/ I...

    Imac powers up automatically

The most likely cause of that in the past was a dead backup battery - I don't have your model computer, but I'd guess it will turn out the same for you. The backup battery powers the computer start circuit (keeps a capacitor charged).

    Networking

What nixgeek said, plus - Make sure you set the router to do the PPPoE authentication, and turn that Off on any computer you want to connect through the router. (The router is your single point of connection to the ISP)

Network Printing to HP Laserjet 4 shared on an XP machine

It would have been better to start a new thread... It is generally easier to use the jetdirect - skip the Windows Printing issues. but regardless we need to know the printer model.

Need to change the IP address on my Airport Base Station

I think you are confusing internal local net IP addresses with your single external one? Or maybe not... The external one is what you need to change. Yes, it is the external IP address of the base station. As eric2006 says, You can probably get that to change by turning off cable modem and AEBS...

    Asante Router & LaserJet 6MP

Different versions of OS X, as well as different versions of CUPS, default to different permissions, so different users/passwords. There's a guide in the upper left of the CUPS home page: http://www.cups.org/ (For 10.4, supposed to be short username and password) Doh! --- see you answered it...

    Epson 1400 printer error:-9672

If you found nothing after clicking More Printers in Printer Setup, you definitely need to reinstall OS X. Try reinstalling using the Archive & Install option in the Installer (click Options and select it). Then the fastest way to update is to download the 10.4.11 Combo updater and update with...

    Epson 1400 printer error:-9672

You didn't say - so I'll ask. Have you clicked More Printers and then selected Epson USB? (when Adding the printer) Have you repaired permissions (Disk Utility) and restarted before trying to Add the printer?

Ibook Osx 10.4.2 Cannot Connect to Internet

First guess is that you have a neighbor with a router and there's interference. Change the channel in your router (like to 5-6-7).
