Prolific PL-2305 USB to Parallel Converter

This might work. It is for a different USB to serial converter than you have, but I am fairly certain they use the same chipset. Give it a try.

    iLife '05 Shipping!!!

GarageBand app= 62MB Music loops=1.09 GB GarageBand Instrument Library = 1.35 GB GarageBand Documentation = 16.5 MB Total GarageBand data size: about 2.5 GB Granted, this is uncompressed size, no doubt it would be smaller on the installation disk. Still larger than a standard CD...

    Multiple logins (like terminal server)

Actually, it can, as I understand the situation. The service I was referring to in my first post is called NetBoot (http://www.apple.com/server/macosx/netboot.html) Now granted, this is running the entire OS off of the server, not just the applications, and as such may be more than what you are...

    Multiple logins (like terminal server)

The problem with that is, at least as I understand it, that while multiple people can log in using remote desktop or VNC, they are only logged into the current session. They can all see what the local user is doing, perhaps even control it, but they do not have their own session/applications etc...

    Multiple logins (like terminal server)

I seem to recall something about a remote boot functionality in OS X. Several keynotes ago, didn't steve jobs demonstrate an iMac booting without a hard drive installed, and then bring out a rack of iMacs all booting from the same machine and OS across a network? This was back before the flat...

iWork '05 CD vs iWork '05 DVD

Apparently so. I just looked at the DVD, and it only contains 640 MB of data (see attached screen shot). Small enough to fit on one standard sized CD, albeit with not much room to spare. The DVD isn't even formated to take advantage of more than 680 MB. Not sure why they'd do this, unless they...

    I just got iWork ;-)

For me, I would say yes with one caviat: if I need to do documents containing spreadsheets or graphs, I will have to stick to Word for now. Yes, pages can do charts, but not being associated with a true spreadsheet makes them of limited use to me. However, for documents containing just text and...

Not automatically-you have to choose bullet from the list pull down menu.

To increase the outline level when making an outline in Pages, you need to press command-] To reduce the level you press command-[ Also note that when you turn outline off, you may still need to press command-[ several times to get the indent back to the left. I agree that the level should be...

    iLife '05 Shipping!!!

Got my copy today. Well, sort of. They forgot the DVD in the iLife box, so all I got was iPhoto, iMovie, and iTunes. No Garageband or iDVD. Grrr. Needless to say, I called and complained. After getting transfered around a bit, they offered to send me a replacement free of charge. even shipped...

    Weather Service Down?

I have been using the weather module of You control for a while, and it too recently stopped working. Well, sort of. It still works if I have it set to display in metric, but not at all if set to display in english units. The manufacturer says it is a known issue and will be fixed in the next...

iTunes shuffle: shuffle by song artist album?

There is an option in the iTunes prefrences to keep album tracks together when suffling... I do not have access to my Mac for a while so I can't tell you exactly where or exactly how it is phrased, but it is in there.

    Radio iPod?

A radio iPod is something I have been wanting for a while. Perhaps not satellite radio- Personally I wouldn't be willing to pay for it, even if it is available in my area (although I don't deny that this would be a nice addition)- but AM/FM at least. The lack of such an option is actually one of...

    Safari or Firefox?

Safari. When I type in macosx I want to go to www.macosx.com, not Apple's Mac OS X webpage. And spell check in form fields is a must. Safari has it, Firefox (as far as I can tell) doesn't. PithHelmet works great for add blocking in Safari (no, not built in, but close enough). And Safari looks...

    Remove file

Almost there. Try putting Mac OS X Install CD in quotes, like this: sudo rm ~/Trash/"Mac OS X Install CD" You can not use spaces by themselves when entering commands in the terminal. Alternatively, you can try typing sudo rm ~/Trash/Mac (no spaces) and then hitting the tab key. Good luck!
