    Advice on scond hand TiBook

I've finally made my mind up! I'm buying a TiBook. Alu's look sexy, but, as I'm working with audio, I feel like I stil lwant to use my classic programs (most of wich aren't available for OSX yet). So.. I found a TiBook 867Mhz, 3 months old (basically the entry level TiBook befire the Alu's...

The wait is over! New AluBook 15''!

I was about to settle down for a second hand TiBook, but the new Alu's are just too sexy! I'm getting one ASAP! We had to wait a bit too long, but it was worth it! I wonder how Moto's new G4's perform...

After further reading.. it turns out my HD belongs to the dreaded Fujitsu MPG3 series. I found this page: http://www.pc1staid.co.uk/fujitsu.html Please do yourself a favour and check your HD manufacturer and serial number. :(

    HD blues...

Ok, I'm in deep trouble. The drive seemes to work ok today. I shut down the system and when, after a few hours, I turned it back on the drive wouldn't mount. Now it's not even recognized. Doesn't show up in any prog (DW, DiskUtility). Dead. Is there something I can do, apart from starting...

    HD blues...

Well... the fan is a good idea, I thought about it AFTER the crash  I tried everything from Disk Utility, to Norton (booting from OS9), to Disk Warrior. They all get stuck. Only DW manages to fix my problems.. but after a few hours of usage they arise again. Very strange...

    HD blues...

Well.. I've been running OSX for the last couple of years with no problems... that's why I think the drive got corrupted. Maybe as a consequence of the insanely hight temperatures we're having here...

    HD blues...

I'm experiencing random crashes on my 10.2.6 system. After a bit of testing (I have 2 disks with several partitions each and several OS versions...), I came to the conclusion that I have a faulty drive. I tried to reformat it and do a clean install of Jaguar, and it worked.. but only for a...

    Web experience on OSX

Giaguara, doesn't work for me... I can't empty the trashcan, for example. Sometimes replying to a message sends out a blank email. Have you had such experiences?

    Web experience on OSX

Should have made myself clear... I didn't mean "emulation" as in identifying as Explorer. I mean "emulation" as in supporting activeX commands, and all those quirky things that make some sites load unproperly on our machines...

    Web experience on OSX

While I agree that the problem is caused by those who do not conform to standards, we are going to be cut out from (most of) the Internet if something doesn't happen soon! I don't know what... Implement an "Explorer emulation" mode? Pressure on developers to follow standards? Pressure...

    Web experience on OSX

This might seem like an old subject... but I feel like we are living in "dangerous" times. Sad as it is, I am not completely satisfied wit hsurfing on OSX. Sure, we have a choice of browsers, and Safari looks lovely, Mozilla keeps on getting better, and Camino still rocks. Still there are...

    CNN shows another G5 encolure!

agreed. I saved for my next Mac for the past few years. I skipped the G4 generation and decided to wait for the G5. Ok, I'm starting to understand what lead to the design of that case. Still don't like it though. I love the way you can open current enclosures with just one finger. In the...

    iChatAV -- Cool, but useless

I agree with the above posts. iChatAV is a nice app, but it's too limited in user base. I am one of the 2% of people who use a Mac, I use 10.2, downloaded iChatAV, even have a webcam (what is it now... 0.7% of the population?) and still doesn't work for me! USB cams not supproted. That's...
