    the client is always right!..

What's worse is when "pros" act this way. I'm only 18, but I was in school to become a printer last year, and we, like some other classes at school (these were graphical design classes, they are supposed, in a few years, to do what you guys do today). The 2 in question her are us, Switch, and...

    iPod mini releases after Vday

Yeah, Apple seem to come right after most major gift-giving events such as Christmas and V.day...wether it's bad or good for them I'll leave for them to decide, they probably have some thought behind it...perhaps they get fewer returns this way...

Need advice on buying a laptop

15" is the way to go. It's got all the power you'll need, is small enough to carry with you and will impress anyone seeing the screen opened. But I'd also go with the 14" iBook if price is a factor and you want portability.

Still, I think you'll have a better time buying Quake 3: Arena and using the Urban Terror mod. It's CS-ish and no VPC needed...of course, you prolly wanna do this cause of the amount of gamers CS has...

Rio announces 4GB MP3 Player, same price as iPod Mini

^ The battery IS replaceable, but you're in for a challenge if you wanna do it yourself. Apple will do it for you if your have the warranty or Apple Care. Those guys who made that video had an iPod which had died after 18 months, warranty ran out at 12 months. For you to pay for Apple to...

Now that the powerbook is here...(weigh in your opinion)

    1) I have 2 partitions, one for OS and one for files. Panther, however, seems to not like that too much, and it's actually more of a hassle than it is a benefit. 3) If you have a backpack, toss it in there. If you're worried about scratches, didn't a sleeve come with the laptop? Congrats on...

    Jobs: Minis for iPod owners

They NEED to lower the prioce. The whole idea of the iPod mini was to eat another 30% of the market, the ones who bought $200 flash-players. They are now eating themselves, and as said before, the Cube is a good way to compare. The Cube was not powerful enough for the pros and too expensive for...

15" AlBook- How 'bout them keyboards pressin' against them screens?

fbp, I think you're right. I see 3 probable reasons for the screen to be elevated over the keyboard as it is on the 15" AlBook: 1. If the PB takes a fell, this may put some of the force on the hinge, thus protecting the screen 2. If you close your PB while hot, air can still escape so the...

Supply and Demand: Apple, You Could Do Better!

No, consumers start complaining when they order a product, then have to wait for over a month to recieve it, only to watch it going obsolete before it gets to their door.

    DivX with Mac

Total, I have the exact opposite problem. The 3ivx codec in Windows works flawlessly and plays everything, but the Mac stuff they have doesn't work.

    DivX with Mac

These codecs never seem to work, neither do .avi-to-.mov software, and you'd still have to pay for QuickTime Pro if you want full screen. As Symphonix said, MPlayer or VLC are both great programs for playing non-QT movie files, you can get them from www.versiontracker.com or www.macupdate.com

Is that an iPod in your pocket...?

Yeah, people outside the Mac community have rarely seen it or appreciate it's historical meaning. Also, the novel "1984" is much less known now than it was at the time of this commercial.
