    Powerbook vs iBook

basurita20, yes, if you want to connect 2 Macs with Bluetooth, you'll need something for the other Mac too, but as Arden said, Airport is a much faster way of doing so. Zammy brings good points up here, the bigger screen and better resolution of the PowerBook are surely advantages, but the...

Cool things to do with Blutooth and your Mac...

Romeo's free and you have to love that, but Clicker has one feature which rocks any feature seen on Mac or PC. It discovers your cell. A friend of mine put it like this: "When I leave my house, and thus the Bluetooth range of my Mac, I bring my cell. Once my cell leaves the BT area, my Mac...

    Powerbook vs iBook

Personally, if I were to make the choice today, I'd get the 933MHz iBook (remember, those extra 67MHz are costing you over $100US) and be pleased with that. There is a speed difference, and connectability differences, but chances are, you don't need these advantages of the PB. Wireless...

    Bluetooth on new PowerBook?

Hvan't had a chance to check. Only BT product I have (apart for PB) is a headset for cells from Jabra. Jabra claims to work fine with any and all BT computers using BT 1.1 (or later) Headset Profile. The PB cannot see the headset...so I guess it's not OK.

    Steve Jobs on Longhorn

Agreed, I don't think MS have given enough thought to this whole thing. Apple was in the ditch for a long time, trying to get developers to switch, and I would guess that with an even more outdated user base (Wintel users tend to be less updated than Mac users), I think the phasing out of the...

    Microsoft's bounty

arden, I believe at least a few of these virus makers are in it for the glory. They like reading about themselves. This makes Macs a good target, since there are no viruses yet. For the same reason, many Mac users probably don't even bother to keep the firewall up, we think we're invounerable...

What applications to use with X11? Suggestions and reviews

Of course I don't know that. I don't have a clue about what X11 is, I just figured it was something which would let me run any UNIX/Linux program in OS X without porting. Yes, I thought they had found a way to do that. The way I tried running it was by drag/dropping the Linux executable on the...

    Powerbook G4 wait

Yes, this sucks. Apple are delaying because there were many complaints about the PowerBook screens. Now, this menat a lot of screens had to be used for repairs, meaning less for new computers. Also, they are delaying to fix the problems so they won't have more complaints. This isn't...

    Quality testing

A while ago I did a topic about Apple delivering, and 1 month from ordering date was much too long a wait for a product, especially if customers aren't told that when ordering. Now, it seems Apple is facing a new problem. Apple was always famous for quality hardware and software, this is no...

    Software Update

Now that it's all stand-alone, it's a daily run thingy in my dock, I imagine others also run it more often. With the constantly increasing internet speeds, it's time to put more software in there. Let it check all our software, or at least software allowing this. I'd love to have my Warcraft...

    Ipod - old against new

Adam, in time you learn to approach the next/prev buttons from the side, and you actually have to press the keys (though not hard) for the iPod to see it. My Gen1 loose jog wheel still beats my touchpad jog wheel in terms of comfort, speed and response... But you describe Gen2 as your...
