easy. PC users are emulating the MacOSX look as is, but still have to deal with the virii and trojans and security issues (oh my) that come with windows. Just imagine if they were to pop out a version of the OS that promises them freedom from all of that? upgrade path... G5. but I know...

why would docking make you "lose a bit"? if it's wireless, you'd basically only dock when you're charging up - plug the dock into the wall with supplied cables. wireless sync is my true goal. sync up the iPod where it's connected via the dock (with AV outputs like the Rio Karma 20gb's dock)...

Well, you guys hit a lot of my excitement about the Mac OS X platform on the head with above comments... but I'm a bit concerned that my Mac will become more and more of a niche product, and not receive product updates. And that's my concern about it not getting "mainstream appeal"...

I just want one thing... quicktime on a chip. add that to it, and make that chip flashable, and that will mean hardware viewing of online files, and perhaps proliferation of the quicktime to 3G cell phones and other embedded technologies. that is if it hasn't already happened.

it broke my airport. I had to revert back to an ethernet connection - mind you, I had to move my desk, other computers, what not too! - just to accomodate this busted update. I'm super angry still.

right. but that's not my problem. my machine, after repairing the permissions, deleting the locations my airport can connect to, my WEP string, what not. bah. I'll figure it out. not like I'll find a pertinent answer here.

MS Windows Datacenter was out before this. All they're doing is basically extending the cluster node and memory registers and making it more available than the 8-10 machines - mostly Compaqs and HP's anyway (models) - that could have ever used Datacenter. And that was out before this...
