    Coudal vs Apple

    Mactels to be late?

I've had a 3.2ghz P4 for almost 18 months now. The fastest P4, 3.73ghz - at this very moment. For the PC world, once we hit 2ghz, it got slower processor speed since. But a lot of the tech has gone into the core, cache, memory chipset, and manufacture size. But to the Mac world, that would...

    Mactels to be late?

Intel won't change how fast they update their lines just for Apple though. Intel's too big, Apple is too small. After this update, it's going to be closer to 12-14 months before the next update to the P4 line from what I've seen. The next few months will see a "line" of products ending with...

    Mactels to be late?

For clarification, Freescale offers only G4's, right?

    Mactels to be late?

Inquirer thinks so... Now, wouldn't that be a bit ironic?

The predecessor of the iPod mini...from 1954??

It all goes in cycles. I see the similarities... in a sorta "everything is moved about and simple geometric shape" type of similar meanner. No harm done. I actually thought it was quite funny... a 1954 reference. That's classic.

The predecessor of the iPod mini...from 1954??

Isn't that what keeps this forum alive... much about nothing? For reference though, I was talking about the "similarities" in the threads about that one AOpen miniature PC concept that looked like a Mac Mini... yet before it, the Nanode ITX - yet another concept, btw - had preceded the Mac...

The predecessor of the iPod mini...from 1954??

You guys fail to see the similarity of this; however you see the similarities when other products happen to look like Mac products? Can you say bias?

Speculation on Intel's Next-gen Chips and Apple's Interest

I was talking about the "Paxville" cpu in another thread. Exciting times? More like expensive.

G5 "Dual Dual" Machine 4x CPU

This goes hand in hand with the new Intel announced "Paxville" dual-core Xeons. It also will mean 4 threads per machine - thus looking like a 4 CPU machine when it's only two. Can't wait to see how the specs between the two fare off.

Apple Blunder gives Bill Gates iPod Royalties amounting to Hundreds of Millions

prior art wins have been spotty in the past... I want to see how this works out.

    Longhorn Vista Pics & Movie

the popup closed via the task bar originated in the task bar... looked like a Security advisory that's part of WinXP SP2 and Win2k3 Server SP1. Annoyingly closed with one mouse click. The start menu was like that in WinXP and Win2k3 as well. Mine is using the classic look... small.

who started using USB...Apple or ?

What concerns me seems to be Apple's near-abandonment of Firewire 400 - as seen in the iPod pack-ins - and nothing announced with Firewire Wireless even though it's been finalized a while back. Firewire 800 is almost Mac exclusive - which sucks for places/people with multiple OS's to support...

Two Tuesdays in a row!! The apple store is down again! What's new now?? Guesses?

I'm willing to bet nothing. A mouse that I'll never purchase was last week. The Mac Mini got an update to everything but what I wanted... the video card. And Intel Macs can't come fast enough. Rumor away. I say nothing is coming.

    Longhorn Vista Pics & Movie

I see similarities... but saying that MS ripped them is going quite a bit... well far. I guess since Windows Vista uses a mouse and has icons, that's a rip too? Vista doesn't impress me. Neither did the earlier Longhorn PDC releases. All of the interesting technology besides Avalon have...

    Apples marketshare

Qion, I guess it must be a totally alien concept to you about the simple fact that some OEM versions of Windows are only installable on the designated machine. There's Dell, HP/Compaq, Gateway, et al, OEM versions of Windows that will only install on those machines. About the same as it will...
