    Ideas on cause of errors?

Okay, here are my results: CPU (Just fine, no settings were out of the ordinary... I checked just in case) 2x 16MB DIMMs (Just fine) 2x 32MB DIMMs (Just fine) 2x 128MB DIMM (Partial boot, bus error, etc) So I investigated the two 128MB DIMM pair... 1x 128MB DIMM (Just fine) 1x 128MB...

    Ideas on cause of errors?

With what you said, it sounds like one of my two 128MB RAM sticks aren't seated right. This machine was up 24/7 since last August without any problems at all. Then, it froze. It had problems booting like I described, then it suddenly boot and ran for another day without problems (it is an e-mail...

    Hardware Requirements for 10.4

Here is the kicker, with both the Panther and Jaguar preview releases, the requirements did not change from the preview to the final. The final version will not have very different requirements, because that could easily re-focus development of the OS in a very negative way. Rest assured, AGP...

    Ideas on cause of errors?

I have an older 8600 which has run great until 2 days ago. Doing some investigating, it refuses to boot completely into any OS (8, 9, even X). I get large numbers of bus errors during boot, lockups, and when I did boot into single-user mode in OS X I attempted to fsck... Bus error (attempt 1)...

    Hardware Requirements for 10.4

I can't really say, that last post is the system requirements straight out of the Read Me for the Tiger WWDC install DVD. The DVD requirement is the only one that might change between now and early 2005. I don't see Apple giving leverage beyond that.

    Hardware Requirements for 10.4

Yeah, I did miss a couple of things... :) You must have a Macintosh computer with • a PowerPC G3, G4, or G5 processor • a DVD drive • built-in FireWire • at least 128 MB of RAM • a built-in display or a display connected to an Apple-supplied video card supported by your computer...

    FT or FS: Lombard G3

I am currently entertaining the offer to attempt to bump myself up a couple Powerbook models (or iBook, not sure). What I have to offer is: Lombard G3 333 (Yeah, I know) DVD Decoder Card DVD-ROM/CD-RW Combo Drive module (Custom Upgrade, 24x burn speed) 100MB Zip module 1 4-month-old...

    Hardware Requirements for 10.4

Here is what I say the requirements will be: G3/G4/G5 processor DVD drive (Yes, you heard me) Built-in Firewire 128MB RAM Go ahead and flame, I am almost willing to bet good money on this one :) Note: These are likely to be 'artificial' requirements. The video drivers/etc still exist...

    10.4 Features!

To be honest, I never liked Path Finder too much, a lot of the time it just felt too busy and still has problems achieving the Spatial Finder described in the article you linked (the last time I used it). However, I personally think that the whole GUI concept can use a re-design. Treating...
