    iTMS down 10:16 pm EST

Anybody notice the iTMS is "unavailable" with an error 5555? Could this be a music store update (perhaps for tomorrow's keynote)?

    Windows Vista's Revolutionary New Features

The original GUI idea yes, but not the more recent advances that this thread talks about (expose, searching, etc...). That is just straight M$ copying from Apple (which they can barely do well anyways).

Mac mini the first to go Intel?

To the demise of Power Computing and the like, this is why the clone program was pulled. The OS was selling well, but the hardware sales were being outcompeted by the clone competition. Apple makes the largest part of its profit from hardware, therefore, allowing it to run on any beige box PC...

booting from ipod, pls walk me thro it...

I agree with iNoob. Better to get a new CD/DVD-Rom drive than put OSX on an iPod. iPods are designed for infrequent disk use. Putting an OS on the iPod (although neat) would shorten the drive life of the iPod significantly. If you are just transfering the OS over (which I don't know if it is...

    Possible iTunes 5.0 bugs

I believe this was also the case with iTunes 4.9, if I remember correctly. Hey, iTunes needs a place to store all these podcasts, why not keep them in the library (considering that the purpose of the Library is to hold ALL of your digital medial; be it audio book, music, music video, or podcast)?

PB 17" or 15" - Which Did You Choose?

17 inch-> It is a bit big when you first have it, and it is big when you carry it around, but once you open it up and use it (lap or desk) the extra real-estate is definitly worth it. The 15 inch seems small comparativly, and the 12 inch is microscopic.

    No internet connection

try uplugging it (i.e. turning the modem off completely) for about 10 minutes. your isp may cycle through/update the ip addresses it hands out to all of its customers and you may then end up with a better one. hope this helps. good luck!

    OSx86: Are You Serious?

Going on a bit about it being the software, not the hardware; it would be interesting to see, now that the transition to intel is happening, whether Apple will keep developing PPC along with intel once the switch is over (just in case it needs to switch back). This is a bit of a paradigm shift...

hmm. something funny with your pcmcia slot maybe? take out the pcmcia card. IF you still have your system disks, put in the software install and restore DVD and reboot, hold down the option key as the computer reboots and select apple hardware test. Run the diagnostic and see what it says...

Slow Wireless on PowerBook fast on iBook

Random thought... Did you have the airport card installed or did you do it yourself? It may be that the antena connection to the airport card is lose or not connected. It's not that hard to get to (under the battery, behind a little flip down door). See if reconnecting the antena will help...
