    G4 Hanging

The drives can still sleep, even with the never sleep setting checked. It defaults to 180 minutes in that case, and if there's no disk access in that time, it'll still sleep.

    Anchor Tag Question

I use <a name="name" /> and it seems to work fine. http://homepage.mac.com/darkshadow02/apps.htm#prefsetter ...for an example that works in Safari at least - haven't really tested that one in other browsers.

[HOWTO] - View RSS Feeds in OS X (out of the box)

I don't know. It looks like most (if not all) of the stuff Sherlock does has a dashboard widget in Tiger.

    hostname always "localhost"

In /etc/hostconfig change HOSTNAME to the name you want. APPLETALK_HOSTNAME would only be for AppleTalk networks.

    I Love the 80s!

Sure, and how well do you remember everything from when you were 5 and younger? :p Hmm, and is that a Converse shoe?

CSS Absolute positioning Mac and Windows

Hmm, when you scroll the "main" area, it ends up scrolling up the dialog window and the content of the split pane up in Safari for me. Works fine in Firefox, though.

    I Love the 80s!

Probably more to do with what kind of music you listen to. I actually have a lot of those songs. If I didn't go half assed through it, I would have gotten a higher score. :p Or, if I had sat there and went through my iTunes library. Heh

    I Love the 80s!

Heh, I got a 100. And ooh, I got 10 points for knowing an Eagles song. Just so you feel bad, I'm 5 years younger than you. ;)

CSS Absolute positioning Mac and Windows

Hmm, you could probably have better control of the text placement if you broke up each individual section, instead of just using #supportingText. I know that would make the css longer, but in the end you would have more control of its layout. BTW, cool design. Are you planning to submit it...

iBook won't go to sleep properly

Try resetting the PMU (Power Management Unit) and see if that fixes things. Look through http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=14449 and find the instructions for resetting the PMU for your iBook (I was unsure of the version you have, so I couldn't look it up directly). Just to...

    known_hosts "E=" ?

Well, you said you delete portions of it to keep it in sync, so perhaps it had wrapped while you were editing it and you didn't delete that last part. That would make some sense...

S.U.: Email messages sent from a single machine can be identified?

Yeah, this is the MAC address (the physical device address of the ethernet port). You can *potentially* identify the machine the mail was sent from, but you would have to be on the same physical network as that machine is to get the MAC address from it (that would include nodes in cable and DSL...

    known_hosts "E=" ?

Ah. Hmm, mine are the same as ElDiablo's. Maybe a stray entry that didn't quite get deleted? Is it causing you any problems?

    Which 'nix will port easiest?

Hmm, look for a file named BUILDING or COMPILING. Usually, source code will have one of those, and it should list dependencies. Those are the libraries and "stuff" the code you are trying to compile depends on.

    Which 'nix will port easiest?

Err, are you talking about getting an already built application to run, or compiling it from source? If it's the first one, you can't. For the second, most any source will compile on OS X, so long as you have the required libraries and stuff installed.
