    I bought a Mighty Mouse

I'm a Windows convert and the only thing I didn't like about it was that I normally rest my finger on the left button whilst I press the right. Because MightyMouse uses sensors and not buttons, you have to completely lift your finger off the left mouse button in order to press the right, which...

    PPC iBook now or later?

I don't think running MS Office in emulation would cause any problems. They're not power-hungry applications.

    Aperture Review

I seem to remember reading somewhere that Aperture is designed as a complement to Photoshop, not a replacement.

    Dell and Gateway: Superior Computers?

I'm not sure whether Dell or Gateway machines break down less, but that doesn't mean that they are the "best" machines that exist. You have to take other factors into account. I'm not so concerned about machines breaking down as I am with what the company does when they do. Btw, I've heard...

    PPC iBook now or later?

If you can't get them from Apple directly, I think other stores would still sell their surplus stock.

    PPC iBook now or later?

I don't know... I imagine that Apple will port their own apps pretty quickly and I doubt big names such as Adobe will be far behind.

What Features would you like to see in Leopard?

Some of the features this article suggests: http://www.eweek.com/article2/0,1895,1842175,00.asp

    Longhorn Vista Pics & Movie

It's got some good features but really not enough to justify the 4-5 years it's been in development. Mac OS X was released in 2001 like XP and in that time it has improved in stages whereas XP has improved very little. This would require Vista to be a massive jump in order to catch up with Mac...

    Where is Tiger !?

I looked for a list of Apple stores in the UK, expecting 10-15. Nope, only three. Three!! That's ridiculous. Look how many there are in the US. http://www.apple.com/uk/retail/

    Reactions to Vista

Ironically, the real innovators have ridiculously small incomes and market shares. Economic theory always assumes that consumers make rational decisions, which isn't always the safest assumption to make (especially not in this case). I don't think Apple is particularly worried though. If...

    News on IE7

In XP SP2's version of IE, they copied Firefox's notification system for popup windows which is fairly unobtrusive so presumably they'd use a similar notification for phishing sites. Also, IE can't easily be removed from Windows 98 onwards, because that was when they integrated it into Explorer.

    iMac G5 Sleep Light Update

Sorry, what I actually meant was the creation of a similar patch for PB users, not this particular one.

    iMac G5 Sleep Light Update

How much of the battery does the sleep light use up on a PowerBook? If it's a lot, this brightness patch might be quite useful for PB users.

    Microsoft Names Upcoming OS

I thought "Windows xperience" was bad. "Longhorn" is definitely better than "Vista." It seems a bit too grand for an OS. It sounds more like a car or a chocolate bar. It does however have this horrible "consumer-friendly" touch to it (for want of a better way of describing it) which reminds me...

iPod Video Thread - (speculation, rumours etc.)

Fryke was saying that no matter who offers the download service, they'd lack the necessary technology to make it viable for a mass-market audience. That doesn't just apply to ITMS.

    IBM G5 Dual-Core 2.5 ghz

Dell are great at making business and "non-gaming" PCs. They're managed to become really efficient at it. I heard that they make the PCs for £50 and sell them for £700-800. It would have to REALLY be worth it for them to switch, as it will take them time to become efficient at creating Macs...

    10.4.2 is out now.

Didn't they say that they reduced the memory usage of widgets? My widgets still take up about 20 MB each which is OTT in my opinion.

    10.4.2 is out now.

It's definitely faster and it connects to my wireless network quickly after waking from sleep (before I'd have to wait a few seconds before loading Firefox). What does the Widget manager do exactly? It only seems to be able to enable or disable the widgets. Is that it?

    IBM G5 Dual-Core 2.5 ghz

I think much of the Mac's stability comes from the OS itself, not the hardware.
