Sounds like a PAL / NTSC thing to me. I'm not sure about the powerbook but when I connected mty old iBook to a TV, 2 option's appeared in the Displays preferences. one for PAL and one for NTSC. Here in the UK we use PAL format but if I set it to NTSC it would still display, but in B/W. Hope...

Thanks, It turns out that this feature is broken in 10.4.2. Hopefully 10.4.3 will fix it.
