Not sure this will help but, try uninstalling the drivers/software for the old adaptor. Windows gets confused easily, especially when you install drivers for 2 of the same type of thing. :p :D

To me, the 17" is too big and bulky... Do you need it for mobility or function/power? I'd go for a supped up 15" myself. Couldn't afford it so I have the 12". :)

Androo - you already have it! Go to Applications / Utilities and click Terminal! There - instant Linux (UNIX actually) :D Get a Unix for OS X Book (sorry, donno any names off hand, look at places like Amazon for 'em).

I got Macs all over the place now, aside from the PowerBook, at home in the living room I got the G3 Desktop (see sig), and at the office I have the Dual 533Mhz G4 Tower. So even tho the PowerBook is my main computer - I have backups. :) I need to upgrade the G3's hard drive so I can use it...
