Tickled pink with Panther printer sharing...

The title says it all. I finally got around to getting my printers installed on my box. Setup my HP Deskjet 845c and HP Photosmart 130 with the latest HP drivers, and I was actually impressed, they are starting to be decent drivers, the P130 even shows ink levels! So, I get them setup on my box...

    Video Card Compatible?

You won't find a video card for a mac that has s-video in, a few will have out. The only retail card that works for a mac that is currently sold is the ATI Radeon 7000 PCI. Other then that, they will all have only DVI, VGA, or ADC connectors. A normal PC video card will not work with a mac, only...

    MySQL screwing up!!

Well, first of all /usr/local/mysql is a directory, and you keep trying to run it as a command. Try this: cd /usr/local/mysql sudo ls bin/mysqld_safe sudo ./bin/mysqld_safe & This should start mysqld for you. The first sudo line is just to make sure you are authenticated with sudo so...

So far Apple's only solution on this is this article http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=25655 which is really no help at all. There is a...

    Checking Unix Server prestanda?

Another option would be, if you can put cgi's or your own php apps on the server, you could use that to query a command line application for the server information. Depending on the type of unix it is, the commands would be different. Brian

    Checking Unix Server prestanda?

You might want to check to see if the server is running SNMP. If it is, you can use SNMP to query for the information you're looking for. Brian

Take a look at OmniGraffle/OmniGraffle Pro (http://www.omnigroup.com). It's a great diagramming tool, and on their site they have stencils for use when doing MySQL design. Brian

    What the heck is WebDAV?

See http://www.webdav.org/other/faq.html Basically WebDAV is an extention to HTTP that allows you to write files to a website. Basically think about it as file sharing over HTTP. Brian

    Stupid Questions about [Music] Keyboards

A synthesizer actually creates sound. They can have speakers built it, or have outputs to connect to speakers. A MIDI keyboard controller is just buttons, keys, and knobs. It is unable to produce any sounds, it is used purely as an input device for software to create the sounds. Basically...

    Weird, kind of spooky problem.

What is she doing when it crashes? What does the CPU load look like at the time? You might want to install something like LoadInDock (http://homepage.mac.com/takashi_hamada/Acti/MacOSX/LoadInDock/index.html) to see what the CPU usage has been at the time it freezes up, and it will also show what...
