    Security updates?

uh... well... we don't really have an alternative way to update the system, do we? sure, it's convenient... but only if you haven't changed anything. Whatever happened to "Think Differnt"? We all have to have our computer set up the same way or something? I have a partition for...

    WindowShade

the window shade part is cool... but it only works for carbon app... I found the transparency part to be rather annoying... after making the window transparent, the window stays on top... so you need to go through extra steps to select a window behind it. If the window behind is smaller...

Post your OS X.1 Desktop Pics!!!!

I usually make my own icons... when I'm bored. the apps I use are graphic converter, iconographer, and iconcomposer. iconcomposer isn't really necessary, but I use it because I'm lazy. I grab some pic for icon (I'm not an artist... :( ) from web, then edit whatever needs to be edited in...

    Do you use DVD?

if you have a decent sized screen, surround processor, amps, dvd player, speakers + sub... AND a nice comfortable thing to sit on... I guess you wouldn't use a computer to watch a DVD... nowadays, multi channel receivers are getting better w/more features... decent DVD players are getting...

well... I dunno if it's been more than an hour... but it doesn't take much time to open new window. of course, you've said "15 secs to a min and a half" and I've tried only once, so I can't really say... well, I'm running 10.1 on G4 desktop with more ram and swap dir on another HD... that...

IE5.1: search Google from Address bar

http://www.macslash.com/articles/01/10/10/1828238.shtml If you use google.com to search web (and if you use IE), this might be pretty useful. Note: The instruction says BBEdit will do fine, but I used emacs. I dunno how the file shows up in BBEdit, but in vi and emacs, the file shows up...

    Please Help Find IP

well... I personally think sometimes people need to think a bit before making a post... some topics have nothing to do with the content... so you have no idea what you're going to be reading until you click on it... I guess it's more or less 'bad advertisement' to get people to read your...

    Onkyo Stuffs

Anyone using Onkyo MSEU33HB or SEU55(s) with OSX? they work with OS9, but they don't say anything about OSX... even iSub seems to have some problem with OSX.1, so I'm quite reluctant to try other company's stuff... at the same time, I'm tired of using headphone out...

    10.1 Speed Not Acceptable

I still can't find out how to get LaunchCFM. It doesn't seem to be running at startup, not when carbon apps run, and not when classic's running... and not when cocoa apps are running either. And since I haven't killed it, there really isn't a reason why it shouldn't be there... it's almost...

    10.1 Speed Not Acceptable

just ran Classic, Classic Apps (some adobe, macromedia) then some carbon apps. I'm yet to see LaunchCFM (without Apps) in process viewer. Is there such a process? All along I thought GadgetLover meant LaunchCFMApp since I've never seen LaunchCFM. I went to Macrumors.com (where...

    10.1 Speed Not Acceptable

so you run around killing processes without knowing what they are? Do you realize that there's no single instance of "LaunchCFMApp" if you run top in terminal? or just do 'ps -ax |grep LaunchCFMApp'. You won't find anything but itself... all the LaunchCFMApp show up with their names in...
