    10.1 Speed Not Acceptable

I think GadgetLover posted that "kill LaunchCFMAPp to speed up OSX" as a joke... if you must see it in the process viewer... just run a few apps, like iTunes, IE, and whatever you know to be carbon (a few things I know to be cocoa show up with their name... so I'm guessing this is carbon...

[HOWTO] - Speed up DNS lookups in OSX

First of all, thanks for the tip... everything's working... but when I reboot, it kinda gets stuck at "Starting Directory Services". The same thing happened when I was attempting to make changes to netinfo database before, so I guess it's for the same reason... Anyway... it got stuck...

Just wondering... have you done clean install? (I think many people are suggesting you do this, but we don't know if you've done this before your comment, or you did this after the suggestion) I didn't bother to upgrade, I just did clean install, so I can't say from my own experience, but I...

    configuring and terminal commands

If you aren't all that comfortable with UNIX, just starting to learn, then I recommend "learning csh/tcsh" by O'Reilly tcsh is your default shell, so you should be pretty comfortable with it... I bought this book myself, and I think it has reduced head-scratching quite alot. My...

    Swap dir, ownership

I'm runnin 5G64, and I've moved the swapdir to another HD (named Swap). Then after reboot, I realized that there are "Swap" and "Swap 1" in /volumes. "Swap 1" had the active swapfile and it's located in the same HD as the system, so I guess there's no point... anyway, after looking around...

I think the beige g3 desktop models were the first to come with IDE drives (CD and HD). I don't think there's a bay you could use for another CD drive though. I think you might have to do some surgery on the case so the new mouth fits the case (I might be thinking about other model... like...
