Yup I paid over £300 too. £345 if I remember correctly..... :(

But most accessories don't work with the iPod photo (Bose SoundDock etc etc) so as I see it the only use for an iPod photo is pictures. Maybe they're doing this to try and push the sales of a failing product.

I've been told otherwise by people who have mini's. Aparrently, there is no display output, but everything else works. Could you please state where Apple say that? This guy has tries VNC, Teleport, and even RD but still no display output.

Is this specifically related to music? I've had copyrighted material transferred to other mediums by professional companies in the past. THere's even software on sale in PC World and alike that is specifically designed to do this. I record all my records and cd's to digital files for use...

The only feature that I actually like and use is the bookmark synching. All the other services just seem like a complete ripoff to me. Most fo them can be obtained in some way or another for free. As for the storage, an iPod Shuffle has 1Gb storage, and doesn't need a yearly subscription...

Found the answer - put the dollar at the beginning as in 'smb://servername/$share' and you can connect to the default hidden shares. Strange how it's the other way round on a PC....?

It's definately worth it. Office is too much for my Mum who just needs to type the odd letter or shopping list. Word has gone far beyond a word processor into more of a document processor, and is far too complicated for 60 year old parents :D

I can share and access them on the windows machine no problem - some are already shared by default like C$ etc. It's accessing them on a Mac that doesn't seem to work. If I just conenct to the IP address, they don't appear in the drop down menu, if I type the share name in, it complains about...

I'm sure I've amnaged to access the hidden windows shares before such as C$ and ADMIN$ etc, but it doesn't want to work currently. ANyone know how to do this? thanks,
