Does anyone know what's happening with Apple's proposed iPhoto? I really only need to do simple image editing, but won't install an X window server for GIMP alone.

I notice hp have a dvd-rw drive on the market. When are the Mac's going to include such a thing. Apple have always been on the bleeding edge ( firsts with usb, firewire, 802.11b, 1000BaseT, the list goes on ), so whene do you guys think we'll see dvd-rw Mac's??

I was reading a review in macworld uk and apparently there is something that always run (even with no office apps open) called Office Notifications. It sounds like it handles your email and instant message alerts. Maybe these ports have something to do with that??

The link you provided runs the manual mount command from the /etc/rc file. It is a function of unix to mount file systems from the fstab. I'd use the method described by efoivx in this thread. It shows a better understanding of the unix subsystem.

Put the swap on the outside of the disk. This part of the disk spins faster than the inside, speeding up swapping :) Does 10.1 have something similar to the format utility in Solaris where you can define partitions by cylinder?

Will resellers in the UK carry the upgrade CD?
