So...no one thinks they have a good printer for OS X?

I've been thinking similarly about setting up an old machine I have laying around with a pci usb adapter and setting it up as my RIP. I don't really have any need to update the drivers or software... what prints well prints well...

So...no one thinks they have a good printer for OS X?

Just to reiterate my beef and possibly clarify... I bought my HP1220 (a wide format deskjet) with the additional cost of its 'postscript' support... which turned out to merely be a software package for OS9. This software package is no longer supported by Adobe, which means that I cannot do...

    Military doesn't like Apple.

What will be really interesting is if the darwin secure os intitiative pulls through and we get a trusted version of darwin floating about... trusted OS's are ones in which the administrator can do much much more limiting things when it comes to inter-process communication. The entire system...

    Your Top 10 CD's

    1. Coil - Love's Secret Domain The most accessible of coil's albums (to date) and still has some of the best lyrics, rhythms, and most gracefulness of anything I've ever heard. 2. Moby - Play The sheer volume of beautiful music on this album, and its flow is astounding. Just leave it on...

    Are you anti-frames?

Documentation systems based on locally stored web pages... not using frames, having to clone the navigation content into EACH PAGE, would increase the size of the documentation footprint a great deal. That's why they use frames there... it saves space... and since the documents are local... it...

    phone... ghz/mhz

Wow... Anysh^&... the clock speed of a phone is the rate at which it broadcasts information... the faster you can broadcast, the more packets per second you can resend to get the correct information to the base in time to be transmitted through the phone network. So... more accurately... the...

    Rant: Quit yer whinin' (QE)

I honestly don't think people are giving OS X the credit that's due... this OS is extremely heavy when it comes to the UI... the reason is that the UI will be able to hold its own for some time to come... it's extremely scalable and extremely extensible. I'm not certain what your problems...

FS: Dual 500, 17in Apple Display w/ Extras

For good estimates on what the system is worth... check on eBay. Your CD burner is worth about $100 now (maybe less) and the little reader isn't worth too much at all... maybe about 10 bucks. The tower is probably going for about $1500 and the display about $250 (maybe a little more)...

MS gets a taste of it's own medicine.

I still think the Xbox has a few things going for it... particularly the built in harddrive, and I wouldn't say that the graphics capabilities are that far behind the PS2, if they even are. As for Sony... you can find places to listen to people *****. They've their share of dirty deeds...

do we really need post counts?

I used to plays Tribes when I lived in a special interest floor called Computer Science House (less about computer science and more about getting access to lots of technology and freedom to explore its use... ).
