    External HD

You could put in a 2nd internal hard drive. It's cheaper than external drive and it's more likely it'll be bootable. I have a 6 GB drive with 3 oses crammed into there with some software. Mac OS 10.1, OS 9.2.1 and Windows 98 in Virtual PC. Anyway, I had a 2nd hdd but it died (old one).

    External HD

Well, Yes you can put 2 different OSes on seperate hard drives. It all depends if the external drive is bootable, if it's firewire on a old Mac like blue and white G3. They can't boot up, it's not bootable firewire. I've had 2 hdds to have 2 Oses run on seperate drives. smiles GALEN

How to make a bootable Mac OS X disc on CDRW???

Okay, I wanted to make Drive 10 boot up on CD. That's why. it's OS X native, that application found errors and I have to boot it off and fix for errors. I'm sure there is a way to make a bootable disk containing OS X. Wait and see what happens. GALEN

    G4 and G5 chips

Hi there, I've been reading that G5 might have 256 bit Altivec engine, which will speed up the altivec process. But, we are not seeing alot of altivec applications. Which won't help that much tho. Also, the G5 will support up to 16 GB of RAM, and uses a frontside bus like in PC. I'm not...

It runs good on 10.1...overall speed has been improved...alot of stuff launch better on it, but window resizing isn't that impressive. it's ok, ok. The DVD player does not work on my G3. It's made for software decoding not for hardware like mine. Overall I love it. I am using it most of...

Hmmmm....dang...I have a 400 MHz B/W G3 with DVD...but I'm getting 10.1 and burn it on CD and see what happens. Why would Apple leave B/W G3 behind and leaving DVD unusable.. Unless I have to reboot to OS 9.2.1 to run DVD....that sucks! GALEN
