Upgrading graphics card on a Ti Powerbook

unless you sometimes run 6-8 apps at once you will be fine with 512. 1GB does mean the HD being used for memory only half as much which means some tasks are many times faster. if you multi-task then upgrade but if not stick with what you have.

Upgrading graphics card on a Ti Powerbook

tiger will run fine on a 1GHz G4 powerbook. how much ram you have? as long as you have at least 512 you're good to go although 1GB would be much better. either way you will be fine with that mac. at least your graphics config. supports quartz extreme.

    PowerBook 12" or iBook 14"

the superdrive is the ONLY valid reason for buying a 14" ibook. the 14" screen looks worse because its doing the same resolution as the 12 but on a larger screen. no offense but only retards buy the 14" ibook. :)

    Mac Mini - Potential Downside

based on the take apart pics that have been popping up I would say it would be quite easy to change the hd to a 7200 rpm with 8mb. hitachi makes a 60 gb 2.5" 7200 8mb that sells for about 200 canadian so about 150-165 us. it would be worth it for the improvment. I noticed a huge improvment...

Mac Mini as small + quiet + headless personal web server?

another tip for optimized server performance is to keep image file size down so the cpu works less.

What does the Mac Mini mean for Sonnet?

upgrading a powermac would make more sense than the mac mini if you already had a lot of $ invested in ram, storage, pci cards etc. other than that I would go with the mac mini.

    10.3.7

what is there to knock about the mod I did exactly? everyone loved it and its not the kind of thing that has any effect on system performance/stability. about the haxies.. you must use a good combination that runs well together. I do use 1 haxie though. its theme changer with the smooth...

    10.3.7

10.3.7 runs perfectly for me as every other past update has. this is because I keep a tight ship when it comes to my computer. too many people use too many haxies and clog their systems with junk and then wonder why they have problems.
