    What's up with Safari?

Tabs are a matter of preference. Maybe having it a little more apparent that you can enable them may not be a bad idea, but not all of us like tabs.

Any thoughts on the Airport Extreme?

Airport disk is a feature that let's you plug in a usb hard drive and share it over the network. Definitely seems useful to me having a MBP with a couple of external drives I use for backup and such.

Any thoughts on the Airport Extreme?

With all the hoopla over the AppleTV and the iPhone, seems no one is talking about the Airport Extreme. Anyone have any thoughts on this device? Seems like a pretty good wireless hub, and the Airport disk seems like a simple NAS solution.

Tiger 10.4.8 on both systems at once

As I understand you need to buy a license for each system. If you bought a single license package of OS X, then by the rules you should only be installing it on one system. However, I don't know of anything that would prevent you from using the same media to install it on numerous systems.

    Telephony question

Yes, this is a regular cordless phone. My original question was if anyone knew of a phone that "could" do this. It seems like it would be a no brainer for a company to build.

    Telephony question

My home phone is a Uniden cordless, with built in speaker phone.

    Telephony question

Now, we keep hearing rumors about the iPhone, and quitely I am not that impressed, but I do have a phone type question. I have a cell phone and a standard land line. Now, my cell phone syncs nicely with my mac and has all my numbers on it. But my home phone can't communicate to my mac (or...

    .Mac Replacement Challenge

I don't know how far this will really go. I often hear the argument that most of the things that are included in .Mac you can get for free. And that's true, you can get free email, free webhosting, etc. Maybe I am nuts, but I have never really had an issue paying for .Mac. It works, and it...

    Worldwide Battery recall?

Well, ya learn something everyday. The FAA is not the only agency to ban litium batteries. The US Navy had a long standing policy for decades of not using lithium batteries. Personally, I still the numbers seem so small that I wonder in the case of Li-Ion batteries how severe the issue...

    Worldwide Battery recall?

Well I can't argue that certainly would suck, however, with everything we are playing against a certain amount of odds. There is an inherent danger to any battery using Li-Ion technology. Granted, I would also doubt that any unplugged battery/laptop would generate the heat needed to combust...

    Worldwide Battery recall?

Just heard this on MSNBC as well. Granted they were making a major commotion about it, but has anyone done the math? 1.8 million batteries over the past three years, and 9 known cases of them actually causing a fire. According to my math that's a 0.0005% failure (or flame) rate. Hell, I...

    eyeTV full screen menu

So, maybe I want it all... but, eyeTV 2.3 has added a full screen menu similar to Front Row. However, just like Front Row, it only works on the primary monitor. I run an MBP with an attached second monitor which I use for viewing the tv feed. Anyone, know how to make it work so the...

    use iMac as tv/ps2 screen???

I just got the TVMicro a couple of hours ago. I wasn't planning to use it for gaming, but I will give it a try at somepoint. I am using it with a MacBookPro, and an external monitor. The external monitor is acting as my TV in the office now. Works really well, and easy to set up. The...

Finding owner of Protected AAC files

I have an interesting case where two iTunes libararies have been combined. Let's call them account x and account y. On one machine both accounts are authorized so it's no big deal. However, on a second system only account x is authorized. Is there anyway to create a list of songs that...

Best way to backup music in itunes library?

I would agree. Buy an external firewire or USB 2.0 hard drive and back up more than your iTunes data. I use the Backup software that you can download if you are a .Mac subscriber. If not use other backup software and back up often.

Faulty DVD drive or software bug?

I broke down and bought a 15" MBP a couple of weeks ago when my 12" PB died. I have noticed that anytime I use the DVD drive (too install software, burn a cd, watch a dvd) it then won't recognize any other dvd's until I reboot the machine. Matter of fact it doesn't respond at all and I...

Is the Internet causing German to lose its Capitalization?

I wouldn't say that language is being slaughtered. Language, written and spoken, is a living, ever evolving, entity. These are just the most recent changes.

Need to transfer files from Windows hard drive

What I would do is buy a USB enclosure for it. Then you can transfer your files off of it on to your new laptop and you can then reuse the drive for backup or extra storage.

    Stability (Do PCs still crash?)

My work laptop doesn't crash that often and is running XP. It crashes maybe every couple of weeks. However, the bigger issue is if software crashes, and the only way to recover is to recycle. That is still a major issue.
