since php 5 the register_globals options is turn to off by default, so $_GET["foo"] and $foo are different variables, if you turn on this option, the variables are the same. and this is even for $_SESSION, $_POST etc...

did you use particular programs with your cd-rws? anyway, if i'm not in wrong, you have to use dvd-ram (but you have to use a ram burner): they are the only that write "on-the-fly", in fact they are used on table dvd recorders...

mmm it seems strange the cd-rw behaviour you describe.. if i well understood you want to use it like a banal finder folder, where you put the files when you want... only dvds ram have this capability... anyway you can "simulate" (!) this feature by using ISO9660 multisessions: you have to burn...

it doesn't matter if you finalize the disc or not, you can do what you want with a rewritable dvd. when you decide to empty the dvd and reuse it for other files, simply go to "recorder > erase" menu or type CMD + B

it spits out the disc without saying anything. obviously on disc utility i can't check the infos :(

yes, it works with original double layer dvds and with burned single layer dvds, but not with this burned double layer dvd. unfortunately i have only a burned dl dvd...

i've just tried to read my burned dvd-dl on an ibook g4 with a combo dvd/cdr and it works without problem. why can't i read it on my imac g5 with dvdr?

try using "drutil" on terminal, there are many possible options to check the status of the drive. i can't verify on my drive, 'cause i have an imac g5 with slot and not tray.

i've just burned a dvd+r DL on my PC burner and i've realized that it can't be read by my iMac G5 DVD burner (not DL) is it normal or is an error? it seems like my old powerbook dvd reader, that can't read dvd rw... (and i know that this is normal)
