It may be that the Classic environment is the problem. I have noticed that my overall network speed is up. I can download faster from the web and transfer files from other networked computers faster. You may have to wait for the carbon version of hotline to become usable.
The /System folder is not really for the normal or even the admin to mess with. You could really screw-up your system if you don't know what you are doing. Personally I look around but I try not to mess with anything directly.
I think that OmniWeb should have an optional status bar at the bottom of the window that has a status indicator when the toolbar is collapsed. It could also show the link address or message since the address bar is hidden in that situation.
I have yet to have OmniWeb do what all of you are describing. Sorry that I can't help you with that.

Holding option down used to delete locked files. I think your idea is great. Shift-Command-Option-Delete to empty the trash removing locked files and prompting for admin password if and only if there are files that you don't have permission. Using a smart context sensitive feature like that...
Try using dropstuff/dropzip to compress the file first. Haven't tried this and have not had this problem myself. I have sent several files to friends without problem.
btw anyone know how to make Mail show the file extension of attachments?
I'm having no problems viewing this site in Omniweb. Try downloading it again and removing the old version before copying the new version into the folder. I have seen applications cause problems if you replace them with a newer version but not very often.

Actually the new iBook is the same as the old one except for the faster processor, extra USB, combo drive, and higher resolution screen. I would NOT sell my G4 for an iBook. I am planning on selling some older computers to get one to go with my G$.
Some movies are coded so that you can't save them. The trick is to tell QT to save the movies in Cache and then search for the cached movie and make a copy of it.
