    can't delete a locked file

Same experience here. This is the only way i found to delete the file. Go back to OS9. Use the utility Filebuddy. Choose "Get info" from the "File" menu. Go to the drive partition from which you wanted to delete the file/folder. now open .Trashes and then 102. Now you should see the...

Well i dropped the whole shell like setup i had before. I simply couldn't get it to work and didn't feel like wasting anymore time on it. Luckily there is another way. You can have all the functionality within one command. Only problem with it is that you have to setup a new connetion every...

Still not working. But i have a new idea now. I think smbclient creates it's own runtime. I'm going to try that out tomorrow. The source you gave me is working. But the prompt from smbclient is still at my console. I found out that if the password has to be returned and i type it at the...

    No tools work

You decompressed the file with Stuffit. Unfortunatly Stuffit has an incomplete algoritme, so some things might go wrong. You will have to use the commandline, or better get this graphical decompress utility. It will serve you well to decompress all those Linux like files. Get it here...

You don't ask easy questions do you. These are the possibilities: Your daily script is not entirely correct anymore. Look for these lines in /etc/daily and see if they are still correct. if [ -d /var/db/netinfo ]; then echo "" echo "Backing up NetInfo data" cd...

    Member staus (Question for MacMatt)

It is determined by the number of posts you have made on the board. You change from Junior to Member with 25 or 30 posts, don't remember anymore which one. You become a Senior Member after you have made 100 posts. DJ

I don't agree with the style either. But this was the fastest way to write it at the moment. And the code is all messed up because of trial and error coding. When i have something working i'm going to start all over again using Projectbuilder. ;-) I'll try this out tomorrow, after i have...

I'm using the commandline for JAVA and TextEdit for writing the source. Works fine for me. Haven't had the chance to look at the Dev Tools yet, but i will use them for this later. Still running into problems though. I don't know how smbclient uses the incoming stream. But it is not what i...

    ICQ?

The GICQ homepage has been on mac.com for a couple of months now. It is still available trough http://www.gerryicq.com though. The site was down because Apple is working on the servers. Alle mac.com sites were down for some period. It has nothing to do with GICQ. There all up again now. And...

I use Java too. I had something similar, but the problem is that samba returns a prompt of it's own. So i have to create some sort of output stream towards the process. Still haven't figured out how to do that exactly. Well, i'll continue looking. And no prob. ;-)

    Initilizing Network hangs

Simply leave it for a couple of minutes. It will skip then and you can then remove the Ethernet setting from the TCP/IP setup.
