Happy Mac on startup, then restart

The copy is simply not good. The CD probably cannot find a blessed system folder. It is best to use toast as your burn application. For the rest i don't know much on burning. I assume the disk is for personal use only so why do you not use your original disk ;) DJ

    color ls in terminal?

The terminal supports color. I get color listings, when ssh into the university server, which i configured in .bashrc to use color. This version of ls on OSX indeed does not support color ls. I remember that someome ported this, but i don't know who and where anymore, i'll be looking for it.

Sorry, you need to ENTER the your send registration code via the App. I think that will remove the 2 drive limitation. But you are out of luck, since you cannot open the app.

    Bash 2.04 works in MacOS X ... here's how

I think i figured it out. Make sure the "use startup file" option in the preferences of Terminal (under shell option) is not checked. Now it will read. first /etc/profile and then the ~/.bashrc or ~/.profile file. Anything else is not needed. I will edit it in the Manual. DJ

    Bash 2.04 works in MacOS X ... here's how

Normally you put .bashrc in your home dir or .login in your homedir. Read the manual too. You can exit it by typing man bash. But i understand after receiving some mail that that might not work. This is my answer to the mail ----------------------------------- I thought it ought to work...

Anyone got PHP to work yet?

You are not a linux user ;-) MSWORD inserts all kinds of stuff in the file which will confuse apache. You will have to open it with TextEdit, that came with your OSX release, or open it via the Terminal with vi. But vi. is a real hard application to use. I don't think you will succeed in...

    HOWTO for Samba on OSX

When you want to acces a drive with Sharity, the Sharity app has to be open. This is real important. If the app keeps crashing on you, then you are out of luck. You will probably will have to wait for the next release of Sharity (I don't have that prob. although i have somthing similar with...

Access Windows Shares Under Mac OS X in 10 Easy Steps

You can install samba, but that is a lot harder to use. I advice that you have at least worked with Linux a couple of times before you install this. You can find my installer here. http://osx.macnn.com/features/installsamba.phtml When you installed it i will give you directions on how to use...

Logitech Mouseman - extra buttons kinda work...

All cocoa apps should have the scroll function default (mail.app and some of the preference panels for instance). It is now part of Aqua. Instead of only click, up, down, left and right, the OS now supports right click and scroll up and down as well. If i remember correct it actually sports...

    HOWTO for Samba on OSX

I don't really understand your first question, but i guess you would like to browse you network as could be done with the DAVE app on OS9 No, that cannot be done, because OSX does not support the samba filesystem. But there is a good work around for that. Use Sharity...

New app ported to OS X

No thanks Hekal ;-) You should prob. take this out the script. # Installing binary of obliterate ln -s /usr/local/bin/obliterate /bin/ chmod 755 /bin/obliterate It is not really permitted to install new stuff (Additions in /bin). I know i did at a point, but that was only a temporary...

    Thoughts on OS-X/UNIX/and MacOS

I know it all, heard it all. I'm one of the guilty aswell. I wrote an installscript (sh), to install samba binaries. I know it's not the way to go, but i am no developer, and i have no idea how to make a GUI installer and even more so a graphic interface to samba. All i know is that i need...

    HOWTO for Samba on OSX

Sorry it took so long. I have a lot of threads to watch these days and sometimes i loose track of them. I would only install samba if you need to share files and you're not afraid of installing some unix stuff. Samba is hard to configure and even with SWAT it is not at real easy...

    Bash 2.04 works in MacOS X ... here's how

I already have a precompiled version with an installscript (BTW use /usr/libexec/config.guess and you will not need the extra flags. Copy the file into the source dir). Get it here on my Homepage. The part on making bash your default shell still applies, even on my distro.
