    Airport problem with wireless phone

Very easy question. Yes, I've dealt with your struggles. The answer is: 900mhz phone (if money is an issue), but 5.8Ghz is preferable. All 802.11b/g routers utilize that frequency.

    Wireless on a G3 iBook

I don't see that working on a G3 iBook. That looks like one of those cards that are inserted on the side of a laptop (PCMCIA). The airport card for a G3 iBook, however, is placed beneath the keyboard. P.S: How much were you looking to spend on a used Airport Card?

OK - you won the lotto

I'd get a 12 inch and a 17 inch PowerBook. The 17 inch to use at home, and the 12 inch to carry to school. Sometimes I'd want to flaunt the bigger PowerBook, though... :) I'd pay every shareware app I've found useful. I'd buy iPod Nanos for relatives and friends.

Cannot Boot... WEIRD Apple logo on startup

That theory works for me. My PowerBook came with 10.3.3 and it won't boot from the Panther CD I bought as soon as Panther was released. However, the Panther CD works for my iBook 900.

Cannot Boot... WEIRD Apple logo on startup

I run into the same problem discussed in this thread (Apple logo misplaced, bootup does not complete). Retail version of Panther on a a PowerBook 1.33Ghz (July 2004). I bought Tiger and it didn't give me any problems installing. Edited to add: Hey, I also get those discolorations...

    Wireless signal boost in Tiger?

For me, both the "airport status" icon on the menubar and the "signal level" in Internet Connect show an improvement. I wonder... is Apple playing tricks on us, or has airport reception actually been improved in Tiger? Another possibility is that airport reception has remained the same, but...

    ibook logic board "plan"

My iBook G3 900 was taken for repair because its logic board was faulty. Although it was out of warranty, Apple charged me... nothing at all. I hope that's also your case.

    no Stuffit Expander in Tiger?

I'm already gonna get their junkmail, so let me spare you of it: Download StuffIt without providing your addy. That link should work. If it doesn't, let me know so I can remove it. (The email they send to provide you with a link to the download says... "By confirming your email address and...

    Your Xmas plans and traditions?

I don't like the year-end holidays and one of the worse feelings I get is being told "Merry Christmas" or "Happy New Year." It's all over the damn place. I'm jollier than most people, just not around this time. I sense too much hypocrisy. I should move-in with a groundhog... Diablo...

    Restoring/updating music backups

I wonder if Transmit (or any other FTP proggie) is able to compare the contents of two directories and compare the innermost files' size and modification date. Those files that have the same size and modification date should remain intact. Yeah, then there's the issue of items that have been...

    EMac & Airport Express problem

If the signal strength is okay, I'd blame the problem on something other than improper placement of the card. If I were in your place, I'd turn off airport... keep it off for ten seconds... then turn it back on. I'd let it sit there, doing nothing, for another ten seconds. Once that is...

    Deleting unfinished downloaded files. :s

Convert's link took me to MacUpdate's iEmpty 1.1 info page. Did you get that far, at least? I'm not sure what is being tried to be deleted or from where, but this bit might come handy one day: Holding the OPTION key, choose "EMPTY TRASH" from the Finder menu.
