    Removing newsgroup search results?

Thanks for your reply Bob, I just clicked on the link, it said newsgroup access has been removed, I logged out then back in again. The newsgroups are not on the main forum page but they show up in the results when I do a search

    Removing newsgroup search results?

Just a quick question, is it possible to remove newsgroups from the result of a search? To be honest, I rarely come across a problem that hasn't been previously solved/discussed by the good people on Macosx.com! (This was probably discussed before, it's been that kind of day  )

Best wishes & luck to any New Orleans members...

What is being done to help those stuck in the city? All we get in Ireland are horrific pictures of people stranded, hungry, thirsty and distressed in and around the superdome. Why isn't some of the massive US military airlift capacity being used? I remember reading that emergency supplies were...

    Why wma?

Myke, maybe it wasn't arrogance as much as a lack of choice? If they can't use Fairplay maybe the only road left open for them to develop an online presence was wma?

    Why wma?

I never mentioned halo effects, my point was simply the lunacy of spending all that money on an online shop that doesn't support the most popular music player. I was just wondering if Apple licenses its DRM technology to allow others to sell music that can play on iPod.

    Why wma?

But almost everybody I know has an mp3 player, the vast majority being one of the iPod models. When these people go to buy music (Some will) they will be told "Sorry, iPod not supported." How does this make sense? Nevermind MS vs. Apple, I'm just talking about a company who invested £10 million...

    Why wma?

Just read this morning that HMV (high street chain that controls 25% of UK cd sales) is going to launch their own digital store. They have chosen wma despite the fact that this will lock 75% of their market out. Perhaps others can help but I'm stumped as to why online music stores go with...

    Transferring.

Do you have a router attached to your computer? If you do log in as an administrator. Check your documentation for the address of the admin page. It's usually something like 192.168.x.xxx. You might need an admin username and password. Once you have logged in, look for a WAN address or something...

    Transferring.

That ip doesn't look like a real world address, log into your router and get the external ip and try again. 10.x.x.x etc is usually reserved for an private network. It should look something like 85.34.14.132 (just an example)

Creo tokens got a good writeup in macworld. It's been a while since I looked at the review so I'm not sure about all the details. It was supposed to be a good way to transfer large files by e-mail or im. I think that there was a small subscription/license fee involved though.

    Toast 7 won't burn...

It's available as an upgrade for customers who purchased 6 Titanium. I got an e-mail from Roxio offering it to me for $99 with a $30 mail in rebate. I was going to upgrade, might hold off for a few point upgrades.

    US purchased Photoshop license

I had a suspicion that they might try to restrict you to where you bought your license, ie. European CS2 registration code only works in Europe. In terms of price, there is a currency differential but 21% of that price is value added tax (VAT). I think customers in the UK pay a similar tax. I...

    US purchased Photoshop license

Wondering if anyone can help with this one, I own a licensed copy of photoshop CS2. One of my colleagues saw some of the photos that I rescued (using CS2) from a recent family wedding and is interested in buying the software for his own use. He will be travelling to the states in the next two...
