iSync will no longer recognize Motorola v710

Just noticed it now. It's been a while Since I've updated my phone via the USB datacable. iSync doesn't want to recognize it anymore. It used to. The Apple Bluetooth even sees the phone, although they can't talk. Running OSX.4.2. iSync 2.1 Any thoughts? Thanks, J

    Bluetooth Gone Missin'

Hello, The built in bluetooth on my 1.5ghz 17in PB decided to take a vacation. It was working a few days ago when I was using a portable bluetooth mouse on the road (not literally using the mouse on a road). Today my computer is telling me that there is no bluetooth module. Haven't installed...

    Epson 1800

Anyone using this printer? Do you like it? Do you have to send you files to it in RGB, or will it print CMYK files accurately? Any problems with PostScript emulators? I'm looking to upgrade from a 1280, and that was the one thing that sort of spurned me when I got it. Thanks, J

    DiskWarrior 3.0.3 on 10.4.2

Don't get that problem, but DW won't start up on my PB 17. It starts to boot up and then ( and this sounds weird ) when the Apple logo appears on screen, it displays it improperly so that a small part of it is separated off. Then it does nothing. I have to run DW via firewire off of my G5...

    Stupid Safari 2 Question

Am I blind, or has Safari limited the places you can save images downloaded from the web. Before upgrading to Tiger, I was able to right click and have the option of saving the image to any location on my computer. Safari 2 only gives me the option to save images to the desktop. Is there a...

What to do when your mac slows to a crawl?

Without rereading the whole thread, whomever mentioned MacJanitor is Godsend. I was ready to put Panther back on my PowerBook, but ran MacJanitor first, and now my machine flies. What a difference. THANKS!

    Can't delete a start-up/login item

Fryke, could you elaborate on that please? I am not familiar with using the terminal or any of it's syntax and nomenclature. Not sure what the path to the extension is, or how to indicate that if I did. Thanks, J

    Can't delete a start-up/login item

Thanks G, but it didn't seem to work. It just doesn't want to be deleted not matter what I try, save for a clean install (ugh). Any other thoughts? Thanks, J

    Can't delete a start-up/login item

Greetings, For some reason, I am unable to delete Extensis Suitcase X1 from my login items in my user account prefs. Nothing seems to work. Tried permission repairs, cleaning all the caches, DiskWarrior, yelling, etc. Any thoughts on what else to try? Specs: 17" PB, OS X.4.1, 1.5 GB...

    Inkjet Color Proofing

BTW-I'm seriously considering an Epson 1880. Anyone have/use one? More specifically, use it with Quark 6? For some reason, Quark won't see my 1280, and I'd rather not deal with similar issue. Thanks. J

    Inkjet Color Proofing

I'm looking into the Epson's you've mentioned. Stupid question- any difference between the UltraChrome and the Durabright inks? As far as RGB- I found out after wasting a lot of paper and ink that the Epson 1280 prints color files accurately from RGB. It totally screws up CMYK files. InDesign...

Hey Larry, what are your system specs?

    "Tiger" 10.4.1 maybe in May

I recall reading on another rumor site that Apple planned on releasing Tiger with some known benign bugs, with 10.4.1 quickly on its heels. After what I've been reading here, I'm going to wait. Panther (10.3.8) is running fine on my G5 and Powerbook. No need for two potential headaches. Good...

    Inkjet Color Proofing

I stand by the 1520. The last agency I worked at did their initial proofing with an Epson 3000. As far as coverting CMYK to RGB- it's the only way to print anything close to what you want. The Epson 1280 (and probably some of the other ultra photo printers) will totally mess up CMYK files...

    Inkjet Color Proofing

It was old, and I found out that our 3 jumping on to it to get to a window. But, the color was amazingly calibrated to screen and final print. The Epson Rip software worked great with the monitor profile. The only reason I didn't replace it was that at the time, Epson didn't make the RIP...

    Inkjet Color Proofing

The inkjet gave me a closer proximity. At this point I'm sending those with some color chips. I used to have an Epson 1520. Color was amazingly accurate. It died.

    Inkjet Color Proofing

Believe me, I hear you about match prints. Unfortunately, for freelance jobs, the clients would like to see a close proximity to color without springing for the cost of a match print. Believe it or not, the Epson 1280 gave much better color representation than the color laser (believe it's a...

    Inkjet Color Proofing

Can anyone recommed an inkjet that produces accurate colors, that will print CMYK files. I'm looking to bring some a good amount of preliminary proofing in house. I currently use an Epson 1280, and that requires me to convert my files to RGB and rebalance them. Very unpredictable and ill...
