Doesn't sendmail have to be started up or something? It doesn't seem to work if I just check the radio button.

How do I install it and get it up and running? I've gone to http://www.sendmail.org, but it doesn't cover the basics, like how to turn it on, just compiling and configuring. What can I do with it? A URL would be fine if you don't want to get into the nitty gritty. But I'd like to, actually.
