The LAN is just a G4 and a router. There are no other computers on the LAN. When I use the router with a linux or windows PC, it works perfectly. What is wrong with my G4 osX installation? Are there any diagnostic tests I can run in OSX?

I'm using OS X 10.1.5 I was using ssh to connect to a VPN. Now I'm not using ssh or the VPN anymore, and now OS X can't ping my LAN router. Any suggestions?
