Maybe you should back up your files and re-install your osx. I've never heard of this prob from any macbook or mbp users yet.

Yep, so long as there is a valid 1yr wty or extended with applecare. Refurbished mbp uses the same parts as a new mbp isn't it?

1 way I know of to counter the font issue if it is indeed the fonts.... After you remove them, try putting in like 50 at a time. Then open up your Photoshop. Close it and drag another 50 into the fonts folder, or Fonts manager if you use one. I hope it helps.
