Thank you, ElDiablo, but I tried that first. Might there be a preference file I'd want to delete? I've turned off dock animation in System Prefs, Entourage bouncing its own prefs, and tried Dock Detox. I still get the Exchange synch dialogues and the bouncing icon. ttfn dirtbagg
