Try booting to your 9.2 cd .... run the OS 9 installer, choose "add/remove>network & connectivity>modem software>open transport .... click "ok" .... That should custom install open transport, if you've been careful to select only open transport ... there should be a minus sign beside "modem...

Try dragging the ".dmg" file to an open disk copy window. Its not a very large window ...don't let that fool you. It could be a preference issue if that doesn't work. Quit any open applications .... then go to your Home folder, open the Library folder then the Preferences folder and trash...

You can boot to Panther CD #1, and choose a startup disc from the Installer>Change Startup Disk menu. There's a decent chance you could have seen the OS X system from there .... and then again maybe not. The feature is definitley on the CD tho. IF you have Panther .... OS 10.2 + had no such luxury.

Try the download at smithmicro.com. Its for OS 10.2 and says the upgrade is supposed to fix the issue among other things. Good luck !
