Hi Thanks for the reply, used 'find' to locate visible and invisible files containing '.TemporaryItems' and 'temp' but found nothing that appears to be the problem. What kind of utility would help? any suggestions? Thanks

Hi Thanks for the reply... when I insert a music cd it opens in itunes no problem and when I insert a pre-burned cd it appears on the desktop and I can access it. the problem occurs when inserting a blank cdr, the drive just doesn't seem to be able to 'catch' it and it whirrs and clicks...

Hi all Not sure if this is a software issue or not, but my powerbook (titanium 867, 10.3.9) has stopped recognising blank cdrs. Once inserted the drive just churns and the disk has to be ejected... Anyone had the same issue? If so, is it easy to fix? Any help greatly appreciated dave
