I agree, the details of the indictment were shocking. This was not a minor oversight; it was wilful, repeated, jeopardized national security, and there were multiple attempts to deceive. It's on a different scale. We also have parallel issues in the UK regarding Brexit, where supporters blame...

I agree. Suggesting two tiers suggests a feeling of being disadvantaged. If I'm honest, I am baffled by the persecution complex that has been developing amongst the right wing over the years about the justice system, science, the media, online information sources, and more. For example, a...

Hi Satcomer. I didn't quite understand what you meant here. You mean that your brother was vaccinated and had mild illness with the coronavirus (which is normal), while a new person caught it and went to hospital? Or the new person passed it on to your brother and, that second time, your...

I don't blame you at all, Cheryl! I've used it for some time, although I read more than I post. Some people I know post on there a lot and really embrace it much more than I do. It can be unpleasant sometimes, with people piling on, and so I think it is healthy to be a little careful with it...

Since the change in ownership recently, Twitter has really gone downhill fast... Staff have been laid off (fired), the app and features keep getting fiddled with, there's been much talk of increased freedom of speech while that only seems to be true if you say the approved things, mention of a...

    Is this climate change?

As is always the case with such discussions, it's a good idea to look at data (and steer clear of propaganda). Here's a couple of graphs from Prof. Ed Hawkins, who is a scientist based at the University of Reading in the UK: Looking over about 2000 years, it could be a complete and utter...

Believe it or not, SGilbert, there are elements where I agree with you! :) Most vaccines do work very well. Like Cheryl says, remember the coronavirus vaccines were rolled out very quickly and I think they have worked remarkably well! (See earlier data and more if you want it...) We're in...

Ah yes, we have anti-vaxxers for children too. With sadly very predictable results..... Sigh. It does seem to be the coronavirus vaccines that get the most opposition and the most conspiracy theories these days.

It sounds like a “cheater clip” is what I presumed. Using seatbelts seems a trivial thing to do to protect yourself. It’s really not a big inconvenience, but OK. Risks with not wearing a seatbelt or helmet, sure, I agree: it mainly affects the user/non-user. Legality is another matter, but...

I've not heard of cheater clips. I presume they are something to fit into the seatbelt to stop any alarms going off so you can drive without a belt (?). If so... seriously... why on earth would anyone do that? o_O Are they really considered that terrible to use? No comment on the data...
