No, I have filevault switched off! Its just annoying because at times i may do some work and it eats up maybe 2GB (which in itself surprises me because im not doing that much to justify 2GB) but when I go to delete the files created, all that I can find, I may only get 300mb back from the 2GB...

Hi there, I have a 3/4year old mac book pro, version 10.5.8, 2.4 GHz Intel core 2duo.. I wanted to ask whether it was a good idea to update it to a higher version. ie. to snow leopard and lion..I have hear that snow leopard can end up slowing down older mac books, and wanted some advice...
