migrating from Apple ID to another one keeping data

That is a common question. Here's some info that may help answer your question - https://discussions.apple.com/thread/254451141

DiskWarrior is back from the dead!!

And, there is another update released, now for version 5.3.1, fixing some performance issues. I had noticed several minutes lag between launch and ready for use, and now the app starts up much more quickly.

Attempting to initialize target disc mode

Try this: On your broken screen Macbook: Hold the left side Shift, Control, and Option keys, then press and hold the power button for 10 seconds. Release all keys. That is an SMC reset, and (assuming the keyboard is working) absolutely will reset your MacBook, and leave it powered off, until...

    4TB drive becomes 1.8T

I hate to put all inexpensive SSDs in the same "cheap" trashcan. But, then I also remember telling a lot of folks that "A cheap replacement battery for your MacBook is never a bargain", so - we are really on the same page, I think. Same kind of idea...

    4TB drive becomes 1.8T

Sorry, I wasn't trying to provide technical insights into the relative performance between cheap and inexpensive. Perhaps I could have phrased that differently. I look for good values all the time. Sometimes I happen on good deals, usually good prices. I normally use the term "cheap" the...

    4TB drive becomes 1.8T

There are often good deals on known-good quality SSDs. That would make those particular SSDs both inexpensive, and not necessarily cheaply made. I'm not saying there are not cheaply made SSDs, with unreliable performance, but there are certainly good values available. IMHO, Crucial SSDs can be...

DiskWarrior is back from the dead!!

Tried out new version on a couple of drives that I was building today. I didn't time it, but it appears to be somewhat quicker when rebuilding drives. No APFS yet. The app does respond with "Directory cannot be rebuilt because it uses an unsupported version of APFS" That appears to imply that...

DiskWarrior is back from the dead!!

Got the update a few minutes ago. Good to see this. I have used (and trusted) DiskWarrior for a number of years. I still hope that DW will eventually be useful for APFS volumes, but with the history on tools for that, I don't know if that will ever happen.

    4TB drive becomes 1.8T

OK, not an enclosure... But you DO have a self-powered interface that adapts the SATA connection to USB.. If the hard drive won't format to more than that 1.8TB, then either the hard drive has failed (and it's a common result!), or your SATA to USB adapter just doesn't support large drives...

    4TB drive becomes 1.8T

What format is the drive now? You can get info on the drive, or launch Disk Utility, and that will show you. Make sure that the View setting is for "Show All Devices", then select the device -- not a partition. The device will show the manufacturer's info, such as the model number. With the...

remove or disable camere and flashlight in Home Screen

You can't remove the flashlight or the camera icons from the lock screen, but you can turn off tap-to-wake, or raise-to-wake, so you don't accidentally turn on the flashlight - https://www.howtoisolve.com/remove-flashlight-from-the-iphone-lock-screen/

    Stuck on kernel bootloop

Your 13-inch, Mid 2009, MacBook Pro has two RAM slots. Maximum supported is 8GB (2 x 4GB). So, no, 16GB is not supported.

    Stuck on kernel bootloop

I have bought those Kingston SATA SSDs a couple of times. There is NO SATA ribbon cable included, just the SSD. Even if one was included, it would not likely fit as a replacement. Here's a possible source for that ribbon cable...

    Mac Drive Encrypted (??)

Disk Utility is on the same menu that you use when you try to reinstall Monterey. Are you saying that you see that menu, but Disk Utility will not open (but the Monterey installer does open?) Is that partition (OS2) from a previous user or owner? (and you are not the original owner?) It...

    Mac Drive Encrypted (??)

Hmm.... -- usually, when you boot from power off, an encrypted drive is locked. No access until you unlock the drive. Not sure why it is decrypting now, and not simply unlocking. Simply unlocking, for access or for booting, should normally only take a few seconds. Actually decrypting might take...

    Mac Drive Encrypted (??)

Your hard drive is encrypted, probably with File Vault. You will have to use the unlock code or key to use the drive - not the same as your login or admin password, unless you chose to use the same password to enable FileVaulr. But, it sounds like you don't know anything about the encryption on...

Reimport messages saved as RTF (RTFD) into Mail.app?

Which problem are you having? Same as Post #1? (How to re-import removed email messages?) Or, same as post #3 (how to get imported messages to appear as either received or sent. You might be able to do something with third-party app that is designed to work with mail documents, such as...

    cannot get past internet recovery

There's 10 screws on the bottom cover. So, the bottom cover comes off after removing the screws. Then a single screw that holds the flash storage (which is an SATA device), and you can replace that with a PCIe card. Install macOS system, and restore your apps and files. Again, it will depend on...
