how to put dvd to blackberry?

Your are going to need to convert the DVD into a format that the BB can read. I would use Handbreak for that myself. It is free and has a lot of options. What model BB are you using?

can't caps lock in startup username and password.

Sounds to me like your shift key is stuck. That would create the symptoms you are showing. Try gently popping the shift key up and seeing if there is any debris under the key.

    imac won't boot up.

My iMac 24" did the same thing, HD had died and would not allow boot anymore. It was well under a year old. I think the iMac line has heat issues that contribute to hardware failure.

lost access to my system preferences

Hey, just a note... I was watching TekZilla and they mentioned something called Apple Jack to fix OSX. One of the things it can do is validate preference files. Don't know if it would help but, try it, can't hurt right?

Official Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard Thread & FAQ

In that case you'll have to make sure iTunes installs in 'Target Disk' mode (I believe) and that is the drive you want to unmount and do stuff to. Target Disk Mode is definitely want you want to use.

How to get rid of the mounted partition

Try using the command "df", that should list all of the actively mounted volumes and where they are mounted. It could be that the mount point remains and can be deleted. Was this a network drive or USB, FireWire, etc.?

I would have to agree with you there, I haven't seen it fix anything yet either. I honestly don't think permissions get fouled up all that often.

lost access to my system preferences

That does present issues. I think it is possible that you may need to perform a reinstall of OS X. I'm not sure how the system got into such a state. You've tried scanning the disk from the DVD using Disk Utility is that correct?

    Reformatting mp3 using Mac

I would format the player as a drive. I assume it comes up in Finder as a drive? Well, I say open up disk utility and format it as a DOS FAT device. This should wipe everything out and the MP3 player should be able to rebuild its basic file structure. Of course, you should be aware that this...

OCR Dead After Upgrade To Snow Leopard

A quick read online seems to suggest that HP simply needs to update its drivers for the OCR. That leaves you and many others out in the cold. I found a series of forum entries about this issue here... Other than that, you may have to look for a 3rd party solution to take the image data from...

    Mac Keeps Crashing/Stalling

Well, you've got me on that one. I have to admit that shoddy programming and particularly Adobe will cause problems to get into the system. I don't agree, however, about rebooting on a regular basis. Most of the time logging out like once every few weeks is a good idea though - mostly because...
