    Leopard not recognising iomega drive

I've had a quick look at Iomega's website, and there's nothing there that shouts 'Support'! In your situation I'd contact Iomega directly to ascertain compatibility of your external drive with Leopard. One 'maybe' solution which has worked for some other, older, stubborn external drives is to...

MacBook Speaker Issue - Please Help!

Very good answer BR. Option 3 is the best, the plug made to measure and all that. 9 times out of 10 it'll fix the problem.

    Maximum Ram capability?

One of the best resources for information about every Mac ever made is Mactracker, a free utility from http://mactracker.dreamhosters.com/ Check it for your iMac specs and then see what upgrades/modifications can be made.

    CD Burner Problem

Yes, planned (or otherwise) obsolescence is a vexed topic. Re Pioneer, if you think its products are substandard, read the reviews of other brands like Matshita, LG, Liteon et al. Sony seems to remain relatively unscathed but from what I've seen and worked with, Pioneer is my first choice. I...

    CD Burner Problem

Have you tried burning CDs with something than iTunes? Try, for example, the OS itself, or Disk Utility. Secondly, the Pioneer may simply have a dirty laser lens. Buy a commercial cleaner disk and give that a go, or squirt compressed air from a can into the drive slot. Next, the 109 is...

Problem installing system on older ibook

Firstly, I don't think you can boot a computer as old as that clamshell from an external device, so the solution in that respect is to replace the failed internal optical drive. I'm assuming it has the tray loading CD-ROM. Where you might find a replacement of that type and model of optical...

    G4 OS X 10.3.9. locks up

Couldn't agree more JD! I'd add that it should be a condition of the initial registration on a forum. It's a simple enough process.

    G4 OS X 10.3.9. locks up

Rich - there are 11 models of PowerMac G4. According to Mactracker, all have four RAM slots, but maximum RAM capacity doubled from the first to the last models of G4. Therefore, could you please give us some more precise specs of your particular machine. A model number etc, to be found by the...

    Mac OSX3.9 issues

Just check you're using the correct password for what you're trying to do, eg. does the installation require the admin login or the user login? They're not necessarily one and the same. You may eventually need to create a new user account, and for that you'll need the original OS install disks.

    G4 OS X 10.3.9. locks up

More detail please, eg. your G4 model (iMac or PowerMac) then we can help you further. Describe what happens to make your computer "lock up". Initial reaction is that the RAM is suspect, given you've got a bit of a mixture there.

    usb 2 firewire adapter

To the best of my knowledge, plus a Google search, there is no USB-Firewire adaptor for Mac. You would be better off using a powered USB hub for your external hard drive; or buying a firewire capable external drive. For portability, there is a battery-powered external USB hub by Cyberpower.

Yet another Matshita failure? If after having tried Satcomer's suggestion, and the problem persists, then get that drive out of there and replace it with a Pioneer.

Wirelessly Stream MP3 To A Remote Stereo w/o attached Mac?

May I add that you can use an FM transmitter plugged into the audio out of your Mac. After months of research and asking questions, I located a Tevo brand transmitter in Singapore. http://tevo.com.sg/products/65.html It will transmit, on any one of four frequencies, to a distance of 50 metres...

Diagnosing slowness in old G4 - tune it up?

First and foremost, I'd suggest a good workover with Onyx. It will clean up a lot of clutter that is not immediately evident. It will also repair permissions and run maintenance scripts. See if Onyx makes a difference.
