iMac mail won't stop resending an email

Try this: Finder > Go > User > Library > Mail > Outbox to see if you can identify and isolate the 'rogue' email and delete it from there. Do it with Mail closed (quit) and offline. I don't use Mail myself but I've tracked down where the mailboxes are located.

osx 10.4.11 FINDER does NOT burn hybrid disks

Aah, thank you Ashe. Much clearer now. There's something about burning incompatibility between Mac and Win covered in another forum. It's over my head in terms of the technical know-how, but I remember seeing the discussion here: http://forums.macosxhints.com/. I wish I could help you more with...

New internal DVD-DL drive for Macbook

Take a look here http://www.pioneer.co.uk/uk/products/45/75/442/overview.html YouTube has some good vids of taking various laptops apart. http://nz.youtube.com/results?search_query=Take+Apart+Macbook&search_type=&aq=f My choice would be to go external - Pioneer.

osx 10.4.11 FINDER does NOT burn hybrid disks

Please be clearer about what you've actually managed to achieve with burning; and which drive or disk is which, eg. "but I cannot read or copy them to the local drive The Mac drive? "local" is Win terminology for an internal hard drive. And... The disk says it's HFS+format only, both in the PC...

    Email not accepting word documents

I would suggest that this is your ISP rules issue rather than your MacOS. The ISP may have blocks or filters in place that someone has activated to reject .doc and .xls. Try sending an Excel or .ppt attachment to see if it gets rejected. Sometimes you can get round it by removing the file...

    Superdrive fails to mount discs

You are unlucky Matshita customer No 1xx9. There are many reports of its failure, very few of its success. Sure, they work okay for a while, but die early. Some refer to the 4th - 7th letters of its name as highly significant. My suggestion and recommendation is to go Pioneer. Reliable, they go...

What's Been Messing With My Network?

In a sense, yes, but what makes it notable is how few problems I - and I'm sure many others - in fact have with our Macs. In the three years I've owned this 2-hand eMac, this present problem is but the second. I've had even fewer problems with my b/w G3. Compare that with the recurring problems...

What's Been Messing With My Network?

Goodness me no  Why, we haven't been introduced! Yes, it has, thanks for your inquiry. I take it you mean the KOOO (itchy-kooo?) issue. A session with Dr Disk Warrior fixed it. Apart from the NWk Prefs problem, the eMac is running sweetly.

What's Been Messing With My Network?

There are several things I'd like to be ahead of a nerd :D When I played cricket seriously, I used to 'nerdle' the ball behind square quite a bit (only cricketers will know what I'm talking about) However I thank you for the advice about digging around in the System. I'm satisfied that...

What's Been Messing With My Network?

That little gem caused its own (un)fair ration of trouble :( It killed my ethernet connection for a start, so I deleted it. I had to switch off the router, reboot the computer, still no connection. Went through various convolutions until finally I got reconnected. I would say that's a very...

What's Been Messing With My Network?

Thanks SGilbert, that's precisely the one I used and I note that at least one other lost Network settings altogether. I may yet do screenshots of all my settings and reinstate them bit-by-bit. Interestingly (perhaps) removing the .plists as suggested and then rebooting didn't restore them, ie...

Damn You, Second Life! No more 10.3.9 Support?

When I look here Amie http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/24163 I note that 10.3.9 is supported. Look to at the 'Information Related to Version:' to see if earlier version are available from VT. This http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/15561/second-life too says that 10.3.9 is...

What's Been Messing With My Network?

Thank you both, another answer seems to have solved the issue. Something - definitely not me - had changed my network location from Auto to Home. I changed it back, locked the setting, and now things are settled, at least meantime. I think I'll try that 'delete NetworkInterfaces.plist' as well...

What's Been Messing With My Network?

Every time I access my Network Settings, I am repeatedly advised/warned that the settings have been changed by another Application (see att.). No matter how many times I click OK, the warning returns. I have to get in mighty quick and Quit between warnings. I have repaired permissions and...

    Pioneer DVD-116 problems

That's rotten luck for you, and you're right about the contradiction. This would be one of the first negative posts about Pioneer I've seen in a long while. OWC does point out that a later version of Toast will give better results (my interpretation), and I agree. Check too that you're using the...

    10.4.11 has blank blue-grey screen

To both 'posters' the first step is to get access to and use the original restore or install disks because you need to run a hardware check. However, supposing you can get hold of the disks, and boot from Disk 1 by holding down the C key, but you still cannot get an image on the screen, then...

Help, need new hdd for G4 Quicksilver 2002.

Well, now we have a conundrum. Mactracker says drives larger than 128 Gb are supported from Q'silver No 2 onwards, everymac.com says not. "Standard Hard Drive: 60 GB (7200 RPM) Int. HD Interface: Ultra ATA/66 (ATA-5) Details: Can officially support two Ultra ATA/66 hard drives -- drives larger...

Help, need new hdd for G4 Quicksilver 2002.

My preference is Hitachi brand. As EDCC says, check your Quicksilver model (with Mactracker I suggest), because there were three 2002 models, the first of which had a 128 Gb limit.
