    i second the clean install idea if you're looking for the (oddly) easiest way to get the best speed possible out of your machine. otherwise sell and get an intel mac. head and shoulders above anything ibm could ever fathom.

    Active window deactivates automatically

    take contents of user/library/preferences file, put on desktop. reboot. see if problem stops. open up applications one by one and see if you find strange behavior. if you do, go into preference files and find associated preferences one by one and restore them to preference file in user/library.

    yeah probably not. welcome to unix underpinnings. try rebooting while holding down command option PR, or command S. see if that helps. you're probably going to have to at least reinstall the OS, but it sounds flaky either way.

    iPhoto 9

    what did you restore? you can't just say "i restored from a previous date." you either restored a certain file(s) or you did a complete system restore, and something tells me its not the latter, or you wouldn't have this problem (not that i'm recommending that as a solution.) restore the iphoto...

    iphone cannot sync with bluetooth. google. read instructions in box. has nothing to do with your first mac. reading and comprehension skills are a plus. best of luck.
