    CD-RW or CD-R?

    I have recently inserted a CD-RW disc into my Superdrive (iMac G4 800MHz running OS 10.1.5) and it comes up on my desk top as a CD-R. I decided to burn overlooking this, but when i wanted to write on the disc again, it wouldn't let me. Why isnt is recognising the disc properly? Any comments...

    Running 10.2.5 Update

    thanks for your advice... ill look into it. Ill check the jaguar install cd... however every update until 10.2.4 worked, just not 10.2.5. Incidently, there is plenty of space on the drive, and it isnt partitioned. If worse comes to worse, ill just have to keep it at 10.2.4. thanks again

    I've recently installed OS 10.2 on a G3 400 Powerbook. Nice. However, when I have tried to run the 10.2.5 Update, i am told: "You cannot install this software on this disk. This volume does not meet the requirements for this update." A friend is having similar difficulties on an older G4 Power...

    Ive just tried to install the 10.2.5 update on my powerbook G3 400, and was told that my hard drive volume doesnt meet the requirements for the update. is there any firmware that needs to be installed to fix this? thanks Miracle Max

    hi, as it turns out, httpd was not running and apache was not running on port 80. So i restarted the server, and its all good. Thank you very much for your help, it is greatly appreciated. Max

    Thank you both for your replies. I have looked into what you both said. I can ping myself, and 127.0.0.1 and localhost are both defined under machines in the network utility. Also, my network settings are always set to ethernet. I have tried connecting to this server when i have been plugged...

    Thanks for you reply. I have tried all the options you have suggested, however, neither of them work. when trying rendezvous name or using 127.0.0.1 as my IP, I get the error message "a connection failure has occurred", or "The attempt to load 'accessing URL http://localhost/~user etc'...

    Is there a way i can allocate myself an IP address if i am not connected to the net? I am running php and apache and need an IP address to load my php pages in my sites folder. Thanks Miracle Max
