If you have a mixture of ATA and SCSI disks on my machine, try hiding the disks in Finder/Preferences, only the ATA drives disappear, all SCSi devices stay on the desktop. Not a big deal but strange all the same.

Another thing you can do is to repair the OS9 desktop, from System Preferences -> Classic -> Advanced. I have also booted the thing into OS9 to get this job done also.
