yeah but that wouldnt be the desktop if it was in that folder.... i only ask because everything else on the computer appart from the apps are on the external, so its better like this. i'll take it this isnt possible then.

Hi guys, just a quicky. Is it possible to have the desktop on an external hard drive? ie, so if i drag a file to the desktop it will copy to the external hard drive instead of the internal. if so how do i do this? I dont want to boot from the external drive though. Thanks

im sure they give a damn, as its us they are making the software for. but true, it would be logical to change the name. Maybe change the name to 'iMedia' and have 'iTunes' and 'iVideo' sections. But the iTunes brand name is so well known, this would probably never happen.

no i didn't format it.. like i said i already had some things backed up on it. the drive is 'Mac OS Extended' not 'Mac OS Extended (Journaled)' would this make a difference? are you sure this will definitely work because i am coping OKish atm. thanks very much
